For more information about: low blood pressure symptoms visit the heart and blood site MyHeartyHeart.com today.

Q: I have low blood pressure, can I take xanax?
I have been prescribed xanax and an anti-depressant for panic attacks and anxiety. Problem is, I’ve also been experiencing a lot of issues physically – from a combination of low blood pressure and anxiety. I feel light headed from time to time and am worried that taking xanax will worsen the low blood pressure symptoms.

A: You should be fine and I assume your doctor prescribed the medication with full knowledge of your medical history. So if your doctor thought the medications are fine then don’t get worried. Doctors typically don’t give medications out when they can easily cause major medical complications.

Although Xanax is a CNS depressant it should not lower blood pressure. Benzpdiazepines (the class of medications Xanax is in) are well known not be be fatal on an overdose in part because it has little effect on BP, and respiration. So you might monitor your BP but I don’t think you will have a problem, especially if you are on fairly small dose.

Q: low blood pressure – symptoms?
the doctor told me my blood pressure was low…safe but v low….so what does that mean? is there anything i should/shouldn´t do? he just told me it means i will live longer and am more prone to fainting…

and is this why sometimes if i lie down/get up to fast i feel a bit dizzy?

A: Yes it is your low blood pressure that causes that dizziness. If left unchecked, in time will cause faint spells which means you will have bock outs at any point at any time. This would mean not being able to function properly if left unchecked. To my knowledge, there is no known pharmaceutical treatment for this condition.

Reasons for low blood pressure and dizziness are:
Not eating enough. Most persons who eat in small proportions throughout the day, accumulatively do not eat enough and thus develop low blood pressure. It is important to fill your stomach at each meal. (not overfull)
Also persons who have meals too far apart (two meals per day) will also have low blood pressure and dizziness.
You will develop low blood pressure if your diet is missing certain foods, such as green leafy vegetables and beef.

Low fluid intake can also cause low blood pressure and dizziness.

I had the problem some time ago. I was advised to consume more salt and alcohol. That dose not work. For short term relief drink something; preferably something nutritious like home made vegetable juice. Something sweet will also give you a temporary relief from dizzy spells.

For more long term relief, the following will help
Include in your diet green leafy vegetables (these you may include in your vegetable juices also)
Beef (beef broth usually give a faster relief)
Raw or roasted nuts and seeds
Complex carbohydrates (starchy foods, such as yams, sweet and irish potatoes) along with the other foods, vegetables, fruits, meats, and fish that you eat.
Ensure that your stomach is filled at each meal. And eat as soon as you’re feel hungry. (As long as you’re including raw fruits and raw vegetables in your diet you will not have a overweight problem.) Remaining hungry for any period could also cause this problem.
Ensure that you consume at least 10 glasses of fluid each day – mostly water. Avoid sodas or any other carbonated drink.
Ensure that your diet also include citruses (all kinds available to you); also cantaloupe, apples, apricots, asparagus, bananas, broccoli, eggs, kelp, okra, parsley, purple grapes, turnip greens, squash, mangoes, papayas, tomatoes and pineapple if available.

If you wish to add anything else, a good comprehensive multivitamins plus, will go a far way in a speedy recovery, however this is not absolutely necessary if you follow the above.

I do not know of a very low safe blood pressure level. I would advise that if you have not yet, you should check for anemia or hypoglycemia. Anemia is not always low iron count. Deficiency in vitamin B, A or other vitamins can also cause anemia which will result in dizzy spells or faint spells.

Q: What Are Symptoms of Low Blood Pressure?
Are the symptoms of low blood pressure the same as symptoms for Anemia.

Are they the same as these symptoms

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/anemia/DS00321/DSECTION=symptoms

A: “Low blood pressure” as such, does not exist, except in the minds of doctors, nurses, trolley-pushers, and the like, (you know, first-aiders, and “para-medics” etc.
There is no such thing, UNLESS YOUR PRESSURE SUDDENLY, DROPS below its usual levels… Then it’s a cause for concern.

And only then.

This is because everybody’s system of arteries, and other blood vessels, has roughly the same “resistance” to the flow of blood, and everyone’s flow is roughly the same (making allowances for age, body-size, etc) at approximately 5 litres per minute.

So everybody has to generate pretty well the same pressure pressure at the outlet of the heart, -otherwise the correct amount of blood wouldn’t circulate. The actual pressure is roughly 200 mms/Hg. but this is attenuated as the blood flows down the arterial tree, and appears much lower, down where it is usually measured, the brachial artery. But HOW MUCH IT IS ATTENUATED varies from person to person, according to several different factors, including age, sclerosis, build, and so you get lots of different readings, and so you perceive quite a different pressure with a monitor (or sphygmomanometer). But it’s only an illusion, of course; the original, GENERATED pressure is -just like everyone else’s, – higher, and actually controlled by your brain to be exactly right….

If you find this hard to grasp, then try it for yourself.. jump up and down a few times, and you’ll see how your “blood pressure” goes up .. The brain is perfectly capable of making the heart beat harder and faster, to raise your pressure when needed. Ask yourself “then why doesn’t it when I’m at rest?” The simple answer is that it doesn’t NEED to,… your “blood pressure” isn’t “low”… it’s exactly correct.. It’s the brain’s job to see that it is, and it does it miraculously well. Don’t interfere with it with tablets, just because some gent in a white coat doesn’t understand Physics…

So, ignore all the crap you read here on Answers about “low blood pressure” because it’s all hogwash. People will tell you about “symptoms” and what your readings “should be” but its all nonsense.
Relax , enjoy life, and you’ll live as long as the next person.

Q: How does stress cause symptoms of Low Blood Pressure to occur?
Please can someone tell me, I have tried asking before but got no reply that actually told me how it happens?
If you already have Low Blood Pressure, but in a healthy way so you get no symptoms. Then when you get stressed or upset you suddenly get symptoms for a while, how does that work, what does the stress do to make the symptoms start.
When I say symptoms I mean, light-headedness, dizziness, weakness and fainting.

A: The reason you’ve had no sensible answers is that scientifically, “low blood pressure” doesn’t exist. There is no such thing as “low blood Pressure” -except in the minds of the medical profession.

Whatever your doctor says, you haven’t got low blood pressure.
So let’s start again, shall we?

Our hearts all develop the correct pressure to drive the correct amount of blood round your body. (Unless you’re old and dying of course).
What happens to some individuals (who believe, -or keep getting told, by their doctors that they have ‘low blood pressure’) is that the mechanism which controls and keeps track of the variations in flow of blood needed (when rising from a chair for instance, or getting out of bed, -or even bending down then straightening up) is impaired for some reason ..- typically hormonal imbalance, but not necessarily.
So the pumping action of the heart is distorted and momentarily the brain doesn’t get the correct supply of blood. It soon clears, usually, but obviously the severity of the impairment varies from person to person

If you’re a young girl, it’s a frequent occurrence and 99% grow out of it..

That’s the top and bottom of it. Hope it helps?

Q: What could low blood pressure signify?
I can feel my blood pressure go down lately. I knwo what it feels like because I felt this when I came down with Anemia..however, I got tested and I no longer have anemia, but I’ve been feeling the low blood pressure symptoms?

A: Common Causes:
Low blood pressure is commonly caused by drugs such as the following

Medications used for surgery
Anti-anxiety agents
Treatment for high blood pressure
Diuretics
Heart medicines
Some antidepressants
Narcotic analgesics
Alcohol
Other causes of low blood pressure include the following:

Dehydration
Heart failure
Heart attack
Changes in heart rhythm (arrhythmias)
Fainting
Anaphylaxis (a life-threatening allergic response)
Shock (from severe infection, stroke, anaphylaxis, major trauma, or heart attack)
Advanced diabetes
Another common cause type of low blood pressure is orthostatic hypotension, which results from a sudden change in body position, usually from lying down to an upright position.

Q: What are some symptoms of low blood pressure?
Is fainting a symtom?

A: Low Blood Pressure has symptoms such as:

Dizziness or lightheadedness
Fainting (syncope)
Lack of concentration
Blurred vision
Nausea
Cold, clammy, pale skin
Rapid, shallow breathing
Fatigue
Depression
Thirst

Occasional dizziness or lightheadedness may be a relatively minor problem but it’s important to see your doctor if you experience any signs or symptoms of hypo tension because they sometimes can point to more serious problems.

Use a good Blood Pressure Monitor that is easy to operate and offers everything necessary for comfortable, quick and accurate automatic blood pressure monitoring.

Q: Symptoms of low blood pressure?
Every time I get up, I get really dizzy nd everything turns
black in my vision.
Is this from low blood pressure?
If so what are some other symptoms of
low blood pressure?

A: The dizzies I suffer from are from not doing deep breathing exercises and not having enough oxygen in my system, not from the artificial low blood pressure my doctors insist on!

I am constantly chilled and am wearing a sweater in 100 F temps!

If I mess up on my deep breathing exercises (yoga) I cannot stand and walk across the floor without hanging on to the furniture or sitting down suddenly for blacking out.

Q: Are these symptoms of low blood pressure?
Headache, nausea, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, pale skin.
Could they be caused by taking too much magnesium at once?

A: yes it could be because of low pressure. In case of magnesium I’m nor sure.
Wishing you health

Q: What are the symptoms of low blood pressure, like how will it make you feel and all.?

A: You might feel light-headed, tired or dizzy or you may have no symptoms at all.

Q: symptoms of low blood pressure?
What are the symptoms of low blood pressure and what are consequences in long term?

A: You can feel weak, faint and dizzy. You may not get all of the things i’ve put down. You could also feel a little sick, if you do feel faint put your head between your legs for a bit and you should feel better. Drink water too, if this is the first time you have felt thos way I would have a check up with your doctor like I did.

Catherine.

Q: Fainting-like sensation/symptoms… low blood pressure? why?
In the past month, this has happened about twice a week, but not even a year ago it was only every couple of months. This started about three years ago (at age 15)

It usually happens after I stand for a while (15-30min) (lately it’s taken even less time) (but usually its only when I’m casually walking or standing still – not when I run or work)

-vision fades until black
-hearing is muted (sounds exactly like when you plug your ears with your fingers)
-sweating
-can’t feel my pulse, but I can feel my heart beating faster (low blood pressure & heart is trying to compensate?)
-headache

I’m 18 yrs old, 5′5″, 130 lbs, eat like a pig and have added more salt to my diet to maybe prevent this. I exercise regularly (run about 2 miles 3 times a week, bike 30-40 miles on weekends). I’ve never had an eating disorder, never drunk, never been on drugs.

Only once I actually fainted, the other times I caught myself and sat down before it knocked me down.

Thanks so much!!

A: it sounds like what you have is vasovagal or neurocardiogenic syncope. Essentially this means that the nervous system reflexes that are responsible for maintaining your blood pressure are not working normally. There are tests to confirm this diagnosis(tilt table) and a variety of different treatments including medication. Get this evaluated before you fall down and hurt yourself.

Q: What’s the differance between symptoms of:low blood sugar and low blood pressure?

A: Low Blood Sugar (Hypoglycemia) symptoms include:

    * hunger
* nervousness and shakiness
* perspiration
* dizziness or light-headedness
* sleepiness
* confusion
* difficulty speaking
* feeling anxious or weak

Low blood pressure (Hypotension) symptoms include: fainting
dizziness
light headedness
occasional palpitations
blurred vision
and even confusion.

As you can see they are somewhat similar but are easily distinguished with a simple test of blood pressure and glucose finger prick.

Q: What causes high and low blood pressure, and what are the symptoms of high and low blood pressure?

A: These two types of blood pressure very from person to person. High blood pressure can come from:
Thyroid problems-this rises the pressure above normal and causes the heart to over work, thus causing it to grow in size (Enlarged Heart) which the walls of the outer muscle will “pinch” the heart and leaving no space for the heart to function properly. This will cause discomfort on the left side, irregular heart beats, bradycardia (sloww heart), shortness of breath, and tiredness that is frequent.
Too much sodium-Salt is one of the most causes of high blood pressure. Food does come natually salted, but people love to “over salt” their foods. Even though McDonalds pours salt on the fries many add extra for the taste which in time will cause heart problems.
Constant stress, tensions, forced activities-Some times a person feels great exercizing. But you have to watch, because even though exercise is good for the heart, over doing it and going beyond the bodies limits will cause the heart to over work, rising up the flow of the blood thus causing the pressure to rise more than normal. This constant unessesary rise will later convert to high blood pressure that will not go down unless medication is used.
For thyroid problems Sintroid and Levoxil are just two of the medications to take along with Vasotec,Norvasc and other medication that will reduce the pressure and ge the thyroids functioning properly. This goes along with a well balanced diet. This diet is eliminating at least more than half the added salt, no sodas, less starchy foods, and no salty snacks such as chips, Doritos and the rest.
Low blood pressure is no rare. Many people have low blood pressure because they are always active, don’t spend the day infront of the tv, eat lots of fruits, veggies and rest properly. Also this is in a few cases hereditary. Low blood pressure will make a person feel cooler on a hot day more than a person with high blood pressure. For those with low blood pressure, there is realy no problem because the pressure will remain normal such as 100/80,90/75 these are normal if the person all their lives have been like this. But for a person who is always 120/80 or more then this sudden low blood pressure means there is trouble. The rate of the heart pumping blood through the body is slow. The heart has the left and right ventricals. Blood goes through the ventricals and as it goes through there are like little valves that work as is they were like gates. The bottom one opens lets a flow of blood through, then closes so the upper one opens and lets the blood continue to flow. Here the blood that flows in and out of the heart is read by the blood pressure. People with low blood pressure feel normal and carry on normal every day lives. But still, they will have to do monitoring at least once a day to keep an eye on any changes.
High blood pressure symptoms no matter what the cause is: shortness of breath, dizzyness, heat spells, fainting, heart beats irregular, blood flows faster forcing the heart to work more and you will in most people feel like the back of your neck is stiff and hurting, your left side will feel numb, the left side of the chest will hurt, and you feel as if your chest will explode. Some say that if they touch their chest it hurts-this is not a sympton. It does not hurt to the touch, this is just inflamation, but it will hurt without touching and it will be deep inside the chest in the center.
Low blood pressure-if not in a normar person with it will cause dizzyness, fainting, hard of breathing but only if it is not a normal thing for a person. I know of many with normal low blood pressure and are active people. For one that does not have normal low pressure all their lives, means that the heart is slow and a possibility of a pace maker or surgery may be performed to correct this. A heart murmer for one, will be also a cause for low blood pressure in some people. Chest pains will be present. But in all cases it does not hurt anyone to take their blood pressure and monitor it once a day. Now just because a person has 120/80 in the morning and at noon has 130/90, this is because of the stress of the morning, too much coffee which does cause high blood pressure and too much of being over worked will cause it to rise. If a persons pressure is normaly 80/75 and it does go up to 120/80 then this person also will have to go to a doctor because this is not normal. 120/80 is normal for all but there are people with normal readings of under 120/80. My husbands norma reading is 90/75 for him this is normal and his heart if good as new and he feels great, eats less of salt foods and does get his rest as needed. Me on the other hand, I suffer non-normal high blood pressure mine will go up 159/100. I do take medication 3 kinds and also throid medication, reduce my salt intake, walk a lot, but still I won’t go down and I do have an enlarged heart that on my left side does hurt, and I do always have the symptoms, but I do take

Q: What are the causes of low blood pressure and bradycardia which result in symptoms?
So I mean not like when it is just naturally that way, or because you are really fit…

What causes these things when they produce symptoms?

A: Certain heart conditions can cause low blood pressure when the heart is unable to pump enough blood. Heart attack, bradycardia, or low heart rate,

http://www.ehow.com/how-does_5535761_low-blood-pressure-causes.html

Q: is low blood pressure a symptom of pregnancy? can you be pregnant with low blood presssure?
i just came from the doctor and i just figured out that i have low blood pressure. i was just wondering was that a symptom of pregnancy because i have been having sex with my husband the past couple of days

A: my blood pressure got much lower throughout my pregnancy. it was never ‘high’ just normal, now it’s on the lower side.
this is common, but does not necessarily mean you are pregnant. any other signs or symptoms?
take a test if you miss your period.

Q: What year was the original patent for Tambocor granted?

A: patent number 6,846,670 was issued 1/25/05

Q: Can anyone help me to buy TAMBOCOR 100 mg, tablets. I live in Chile where this medicine doesnt exits?
I am taking Amiodarone and Tambocor 100 mg tablets for my AF with very best results. But since two weeks ago no pharmacy sells Tambocor in Chile. So I am looking for someone who can help me to buy this medicine in other country.

A: The trade name is Flecainide. In different countries, the drug might go by a different name.
The drug might have been removed from market in Chile.

Q: can i take tambocor and monofeme?
I have been taking Tambocor for a year to treat svt, and now want to use monofeme, please don’t suggest going to the doctor as that will be the next step i take but am curious in the mean time. Cheers

A: The answer is No you should not take Monofeme with Flecainide acetate (Tambocor). Flecainide is taken only for potentially life threatening heart rhythm disturbances. This makes it of profound importance that you do not take any substance until you have consulted with your physician. This includes prescription medications from other physicians, over-the-counter medications, dietary supplements, so-called natural substances, and herbal preparations. You may not need to see your physician as a telephone call to the office and a return call from the nurse should be all that is required. I am reasonably certain however that the cardiologist – and flecainide should only be initiated by a cardiologist – will say No to Monofeme. If I may be of further assistance please let me know. I wish you the very best of health and in all things may God bless.

Q: My husband needs Tambocor?
3M discontinued making Tambacor and my husband has not taken his prescribed medicine in over 3 months. He had a severe episode which scared us very much. Can anyone help me obtain these pills? We just came back from the cardiologist and he prescribed other pills “while” we find Tambocor. We live in Mexico-your help is greatly appreciated.

A: Check on the generic, flecainide acetate.

BTW, I think it’s still available in the US.

Q: anyone else suffer from episodes of SVT?
I am 22 yrs old, with cardiomyopathy (ejection fraction of 35-40 right now), i have an AICD, and have had 2 ablations, i take tambocor, lisinopril, amiodarone, aldactone, cardizem, and toprol XL…but i keep having these bad epoisodes of SVT, chest pain, lightheaded, hr of 180-200…always have to go into ER and get iv adenosine, usually admitted overnight….ive seen 3 different cardiologists, and 4 EP dr’s, and all anyone wants to do is another ablation, which i dont want, cuz neither has been successful anyways, i was just wondering if anyone knew of anything else…different meds that have worked, trials, anything, im desperate! thanks!

A: Already your EF is towards the lower side, I have this topic searched out for you so that you can fully understand your future line of action.

Treating tachycardias
For tachycardias originating in the atria or ventricles, treatments may include one or more of the following:

    * Vagal maneuvers. You may be able to stop a supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) by using particular maneuvers, which include holding your breath and straining, dunking your face in ice water, or coughing. Your doctor may be able to recommend other maneuvers to halt a fast heartbeat. These maneuvers affect the nervous system that controls your heartbeat (vagal nerves), often causing your heart rate to slow.
* Medications. Many types of tachycardias respond well to anti-arrhythmic medications. Though they don’t cure the problem, they can reduce episodes of tachycardia or slow down the heart when an episode occurs. Some medications can slow down your heart so much that you may need a pacemaker. It’s very important to take any anti-arrhythmic medication exactly as directed by your doctor in order to avoid complications.
* Cardioversion. If you have an atrial tachycardia, including atrial fibrillation, your doctor may use cardioversion, which is an electrical shock used to reset your heart to its regular rhythm. Usually this is done externally in a monitored setting, and you’re given medication to sedate you during the procedure, so there’s no pain involved.
* Cardiac ablation. In this procedure, one or more catheters are threaded through your blood vessels to your inner heart. They’re positioned on areas of your heart identified by your doctor as causing your arrhythmia. Electrodes at the catheter tips are heated with radiofrequency energy. Another method involves cooling the tips of the catheters, which freezes the problem tissue. Either method destroys (ablates) a small spot of heart tissue and creates an electrical block along the pathway that’s causing your arrhythmia. Usually, this stops your arrhythmia.

Implantable devices
Treatment for heart arrhythmias also may involve use of an implantable device:

    * Pacemaker. A pacemaker is an implantable device that helps regulate slow heartbeats (bradycardia). A small battery-driven device is placed under the skin near the collarbone in a minor surgical procedure. An insulated wire extends from the device to the right side of the heart, where it’s permanently anchored. If a pacemaker detects a heart rate that’s too slow or no heartbeat at all, it emits electrical impulses that stimulate your heart to speed up or begin beating again. Most pacemakers have a sensing device that turns them off when your heartbeat is above a certain level. It turns back on when your heartbeat is too slow. Most people can be discharged from the hospital one to two days after a pacemaker is implanted.
* Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD). Your doctor may recommend this device if you’re at high risk of developing a dangerous ventricular tachycardia (VT) or ventricle fibrillation (VF). Implantable defibrillator units designed to treat atrial fibrillation also are available. An ICD is a battery-powered unit that’s implanted near the left collarbone. One or more electrode-tipped wires from the ICD run through veins to the heart. The ICD continuously monitors your heart rhythm. If it detects a rhythm that’s too slow, it paces the heart as a pacemaker would. If it detects VT or VF, it sends out low- or high-energy shocks to reset the heart to a normal rhythm. An ICD may lessen your chance of having a fatal arrhythmia, compared with preventive drug treatment.

Surgical treatments
In some cases, surgery may be the recommended treatment for heart arrhythmias:

    * Maze procedure. This involves making a series of surgical incisions in the atria. These heal into carefully placed scars in the atria that form boundaries that force electrical activation to proceed in an orderly manner from top to bottom. The procedure has a high success rate, but because it requires open-heart surgery, it’s usually reserved for people who don’t respond to other treatments. The surgeon may use a cryoprobe — an instrument for applying extreme cold to tissue — or a hand-held radiofrequency probe, rather than a scalpel, to create the scars.
* Ventricular aneurysm surgery. In some cases, an aneurysm in the heart is the cause of an arrhythmia. If catheter ablation and implanted ICD don’t work, you may need this surgery. It involves removing the bulge (aneurysm) that’s causing your arrhythmia. By removing the source of the abnormal impulses, the arrhythmia often can be eliminated.
* Coronary bypass surgery. If you have severe coronary artery disease in addition to frequent ventricular tachycardia, your doctor may recommend coronary bypass surgery. This may improve the blood supply to your heart and reduce the frequency of your ventricular tachycardia.

Q: I am plagued with PVCs that drive me nuts, but my doctors say they are benign. Any suggestions for coping?
Three years ago I was diagnosed with benign PVCs. As time has passed, they seem to occur more frequently, longer bouts, and drain me physically and emotionally. They are very bothersome. I’m currently undergoing venom allergy injections (yellow jackets and hornets) and my allergy doctor does NOT want me taking a beta blocker, and I understand why. Toprol caused me to be depressed anyway. My cardiologist has suggested Tambocor, but I am scared to try it because of the dangerous side effects. I take a 200 mg. magnesium supplement daily. I watch the usuals, caffeine, chocolate, alcohol. I take no medications, other than an occasional Tylenol. I experience PVCs most of the time — literally for hours on end, and I am at my wit’s end. I would appreciate any support or advice for treatment that anyone might have.

A: Hey! A fellow sufferer! I was diagnosed with PVC’s a couple of months after I had my 3rd child. They scared the mess out of me and I went to the ER on 3 seperate occasions thinking I was dying…each time they gave me the PVC speech and sent me home. They are very nerve-wracking and I have looked at every site and talked to every doctor I can get my hands on and nobody knows of a silver bullet, but I have found something that works for me. I take a benadryl, a gas x and 2 rolaids every morning and every night before bed. It has helped sooooooo much. Mine seemed to be linked to my stomach…if i eat too much or if i have gas build-up i get runs of PVCs. So the rolaids help…and I’m not sure why the benadryl helps but it does. It’s worth trying….it has reduced mine significantly and i don’t have nearly the anxiety that i once had about them.

Q: What causes low blood pressure?
I was recently diagnosed with vasovagal syncope and low blood pressure. What causes low blood pressure? They told me to increase salt and fluid intake but is the only cause of low blood pressure low salt/fluid?

What else can I do?
Thanks
I don’t go to the doctor, wookie.

The doctors have not been very helpful so far.

A: 10-1 there have been other factors ruled out by blood test.
Let me explain why salt and fluid intake have been suggested.

The main reason low blood pressure occurs is because a lack of blood volume, not enough blood, usually due to trauma or such. about 30& of blood is made of red blood cells, the rest is plasma. Blood plasma is made of primary water.

So increasing fluid intake would increase blood volume, there by raising blood pressure. The salt will help retain the water and raise electrolyte levels.

Q: What causes low blood pressure to sky rocket to high blood pressure?
My blood pressure is usually right around the “normal” 120/80 and I was feeling really tired this morning and I took my blood pressure and it was 80/53 so I got a little worried and then I ate a small bowl of veggie soup and then took it again and it jumped all the way up to 163/108. What could have caused that?

A: Your condition is called Labile Hypertension. Read on…..

Labile hypertension is a subcategory of hypertension (high blood pressure). It is characterised by abrupt and repeated fluctuations in blood pressure levels. At times this fluctuation can range from 119/76 mm Hg in the morning to 170/104 mm Hg in the afternoon.

Is the Threat Real?

The threat posed by labile hypertension is real. Though unlike others individuals suffering from labile hypertension never show symptoms of suffering from it, the fact still remains that they continue to silently suffer from it. Even otherwise the surge in blood pressure seems to be insignificant (as it is gradual) but in reality it is dangerous.

People who get regularly affected by labile hypertension (from different types of causes) can experience the same type of damages suffered by those with resident hypertension (hypertension as a part of their life).

There are different causes of labile hypertension. These include factors such as anxiety attacks, too much consumption of caffeine, salt sensitivity, or stress
overload. The causes might be different but the health implication of labile hypertension is the same in all cases- it poses a serious threat to the life of the individual. Hence, it is absolutely necessary to treat this condition.

It is safe to get a complete cardio check to see if there is any problem. Good luck.

Q: What causes low blood pressure and low heart beat?
Everytime I give blood the nurse testing my blood pressure calls for the RN to recheck me. Then she asks me questions like if I’m a marathon runner or if I’m very athletic. I’m also a free bleeder and bleed alot from even small wounds.

From what I pick up from the nurses it’s a good thing but I’m just curious about it.

My blood pressure is like 100/60 and my heart beats around 45bpm at rest, I would think this would help live a long life because my heart doesn’t work very hard.

I’ve taking probably 10 polygraph tests also and they have a hard time just registering a heart beat sometimes because I relax so much while taking them, they’ll stop in the middle of it and ask if I’m still alive.

Thanks for your answers

A: The second figure (60 in your case) indicates the pressure left in your veins after the heart beats. If this is low, then less pressure is being exerted overall on your circulatory system, so that’s a good thing. The first number (100) shows what pressure the heart is exerting when it beats – if you have coronary or other circulatory problems, the veins and arteries might be partially blocked, in which case, the heart has to work much harder to get the blood to flow through your body, and the pressure exerted can be high enough to rupture or damage blood vessels. This is the danger of high blood pressure.

I’m not sure why they are particularly surprised at your blood pressure. I’m a healthy man in my 50’s and my blood pressure has been 110/70, or occasionally 120/80 for the last 30 years.

Marathon runners/athletes train hard and both increase the power of their heart, and reduce the resistance to blood flow in the body, so their blood pressure might be even lower than yours.

In general, if you are in good health, and take regular exercise, your at-rest pulse should be around 60-70 bpm. Your at rest pulse is indeed more like that of a very healthy athlete – you are lucky!

They should be happy that your heart is in good condition and your blood pressure is well within the normal range.

Q: What Causes Low Blood Pressure?
I have recently found out that i have low blood pressure and low iron, i have heard that this is a bad combonation and i am trying to gain a better understanding of why? and what causes low blood pressure, how to fix it and can it cause chest pains and dizziness?

A: For the most part, low blood pressure, or hypotension, is considered to be a sign of good health. This is because higher blood pressure places more pressure is on the heart and the circulatory system. For this reason, individuals with low blood pressure are usually at a lower risk of kidney disease, stroke, and heart disease. In some cases, however, low blood pressure may not be healthy and, like high blood pressure, carries some risks.

With very low blood pressure, the brain, heart, and other vital organs may not receive enough blood. Ultimately, this can cause these organs to fail to function properly and even to become permanently damaged. The lack of oxygen can also cause a person with low blood pressure to experience blackouts, particularly when standing up or sitting up too quickly after lying down. This type of low blood pressure is generally referred to as orthostatic hypotension.

Low blood pressure can also be a symptom of a variety of conditions, some of which are life threatening. These conditions include dehydration, shock, advanced diabetes, heart failure, heart attack, and anaphylaxia, a life threatening allergic response. While low blood pressure does not cause these conditions, it can sometimes be the first sign of them.

For a person to be diagnosed as having low blood pressure, his or her blood pressure must be below 90/60. Normal blood pressure is considered to be anywhere from 90/60 to 120/80. It is possible for only one of these numbers to be less than the normal range. In this case, the person may still be considered to have low blood pressure.

Regardless of the blood pressure reading, doctors do not usually diagnose a person with low blood pressure unless he or she is showing other signs or problems associated with low blood pressure. Some of these signs include dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting for no apparent reason. Since blood pressure that is low enough to cause health problems is usually caused by other health problems, the first treatment plan is to treat the underlying cause of the low blood pressure. If there is no underlying cause, certain medications may be prescribed to regulate the blood pressure.

Q: suggest ten possible causes of low blood pressure based on the factors that maintain normal blood pressure?
Blood Pressure = Cardiac Output x Total Peripheral Resistance
if you don’t mind please describe whether the causes are hypovolemic, cardiologic, distributive, obstructive, or neurogenic.
(highest rating to the quick and best answer)

A: Possible causes of low blood pressure

Distributive (Excessive vasodilation, a hyper dynamic process)

# Septic Shock
# Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) due to noninfectious inflammatory conditions like burns & pancreatitis;
# Toxic shock syndrome (TSS);
# anaphylaxis; drug or toxin reactions, including insect bites, transfusion reaction, and heavy metal poisoning;
# Addisonian crisis;
# Aepatic insufficiency;
# Neurogenic shock due to brain or spinal cord injury.

Cardiogenic

# Following acute myocardial infarction (MI).
# acute coronary syndrome or unstable angina).
# Pericarditis
# A slow heart rate (bradycardia)
# Cardiac arrhythmias

Hypovolemic

# Hemorrhagic shock.
# Dehydration is common among patients with prolonged nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.Other causes of dehydration include exercise, sweating, fever, and heat exhaustion, or heat stroke.

Obstructive shock

# Pulmonary Embolism
# cardiac tamponade
# Narrowing of the aorta.

Neurogenic shock
# Due to brain or spinal cord injury

Q: How do antidepressants cause low blood pressure?
Ive read on the internet they do and i am doing a assignment and one of the sections is on blood pressure. I cant find anywhere how it causes lo pressure though…
Any help???

A: Tricyclic antidepressants can cause low blood pressure (particularly postural hypotention) in about 17 in 100 people. Low BP is only ever a problem if you are symptomatic. It is due to the anticholinergic effects of the medication. Postural hypotension associated with antidepressant medication is generally caused by a failure of reflex peripheral vasoconstriction.

Q: What are 10 possible causes of low blood pressure?
For each of the causes which term applies to it: cardiogenic, neurogenic, hypovolemic, distributive or obstructive?

A: Cardiogenic (heart related) orthostatic hypotension. In this instance the heart doesn’t respond adequately to demands for greater pumping and blood pressure drops. Conditions such as arrhythmia, heart failure, deconditioning, and pregnancy are examples.
Hypovolemic – Low blood volume (e.g. anemia, dehydration, dialysis)
Medication related (usually too high doses of blood pressure medications or medications for depression)
Primary adrenal insufficiency.
Neurogenic orthostatic hypotension
. Sensory neuropathies (diabetes, alcohol, syphilis, Holmes-Adie syndrome, carotid sinus obliteration by endarterectomy, Riley-Day syndrome)
Multiple system atrophy or Shy-Drager, Parkinson’s, dementia with Lewy bodies. Patients with MSA have intact sympathetic noradrenergic innervation.
Medullary strokes or injuries
Peripheral neuropathy, especially diabetes and amyloidosis
PAF – pure autonomic failure or idiopathic orthostatic hypotension.
Dopamine beta-hydroxylase deficiency

Q: what causes low blood pressure?
well im 15, and sometimes when im lying down on the couch and get up, [its not a quick motion] 15 seconds later i feel like im going to faint. my vision gets a little blurry, my vision gets kinda black but slowly goes back to normal, and i loose my balance. i feel like im actually going to faint one day. the feeling lasts anywhere from 15-40 seconds. i exercise daily, and all i drink is water, and cranberry juice. then someone said this is caused by a drop in blood pressure, and that i may even have low blood pressure. what causes this and how does this affect my body? also, they said anemia is a possibility, what is that? i know of nobody in my family who has this kind of problem, so i feel kinda lost. i plan on going to a see a doctor soon =/ thanks for the help i appreciate it

A: drink something that is osmotically balanced like gatorade (has both sugar and salt) this will increase the volume of your blood. you are also growing. all normal.

Q: Other than low iron, what are the causes of low blood pressure?
I have a normal resting heart rate. I’m not on any medication. Everything about my blood work is normal. I’m not often dehydrated.

?

A: Do you get enough salt in your diet?

Love your new back-up account!

Q: What are the causes of low blood pressure and how can it be treated?

A: Causes

There are a variety of factors that can lead to low blood pressure:

Pregnancy – Blood pressure commonly drops by as much as 5-10 points systolic and 10-15 diastolic during the first 24 weeks of pregnancy due to the expansion of the woman’s circulatory system
Medications – Not surprisingly, many drugs used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and heart disease can trigger unexpectedly low blood pressure. Your doctor may need to adjust your dosage and/or medication. Other drugs to treat Parkinson’s disease, depression, and erectile dysfunction (e.g. Viagra) can also cause low blood pressure.
Heart Problems – Heart problems such as bradycardia (low heart beat rate), heart valve problems, and heart attack/failure can lead to low blood pressure. In these conditions, the heart is not able to pump enough blood.
Endocrine Problems – Thyroid problems (underactive or overactive), Addison’s disease (adrenal insufficiency), low blood sugar, and diabetes can all trigger low blood pressure.
Dehydration – In dehydration, your body loses more water than you take in. Dehydration is usually a result of diarrhea, vomiting, diuretic overuse, and strenuous exercise. The drop in volume can cause weakness, dizziness, and fatigue.
Nutritional Deficiencies – Deficiencies in vitamin B-12 and folic acid can lead to anemia, which then in turn can lead to low blood pressure
You need to keep it monitored with your MD or healthcare professional on a regular basis to determine a course of action.

Q: Can chickenpox cause very low blood pressure?
Or would this be an indication of another underlying condition that required investigating? I realise it’s difficult to know without knowing full patient details but in general, can
chickenpox cause low blood pressure? Does it happen often? By the way I’m
referring to an adult not a child.
By the way I should also add that the young adult is otherwise fit and healthy

A: chicken pox by itself will not cause low blood pressure.
in acute state because of high fever and irritability and some times vomiting(chicken pox affects intestines also) leading to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance .patient will not take food and fluids and even water also.
hence low blood pressure.

Q: What are the causes of having Low Blood Pressure?
Is it as bad as having high blood pressure?

A: Both low and high are bad. If you always have low blood pressure then it may just be normal for you.

The causes for low blood pressure are:
Dehydration
Skipping a meal
Pregnancy
Medications
Heart problems
Severe infection

The good thing is that some people just have normal low blood pressure. But if you never had it before then you should talk to a doctor.

here is a good link: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/low-blood-pressure/DS00590/DSECTION=causes

Q: low blood pressure, causes??
So I just test my blood pressure, with one of those at home things, and the numbers said 100/63 with an 83bpm. I did another test, and it came out 105/63 with 83bpm. My mom said that its low, so did the arrow on the monitor.

What I want to know, is what could be causing my blood pressure to be that low. I’m 18, 124 lbs, and I was born premature, first week of the 8th month, if thats of any help. Also, my mom had really high blood pressure when she was in labor with me.

I’m just curious about why my blood pressure could be so low, my doctors have said that i’m fine, but I know something is up, because I don’t drink coffee in the morning, rather I rarely do, and I am always wanting to sleep, especially in class. During the week, i sleep an average of about 5-6 hours a night, but the rest I make up for on the weekends (sat & sun).

thank you for the answers in advance. =)

A: Low blood pressure in an otherwise healthy adult is usually caused by dehydration. Are you drinking enough fluids during the day?

Q: What can cause low blood pressure, low potassium and low iron levels in 21 weeks of pregnancy?
I did ask my doctor, he hospitalized me and couldn’t find the reason. I have to see him again next week. My god why do people find the need to answer just to be RUDE!

A: You are providing nutrition for you AND YOUR FETUS–you need your doctor to advise on adding to your daily diet. Suggestions on a public site are not going to be of any value. Pregnancy changes a woman’s body–that is not so hard to understand–you need to stay in touch with your doctor and note all of your changes as they occur. Do not add things to your diet that are not beneficial–do not guess at what forms of sugar and vitamins and minerals you MAY need. Every woman is different–a thousand pregnant women can have a thousand different changes as the pregnancy develops. Relax–Good luck to you.

Q: Renal functions. Patient has extemely low blood pressure caused by congestive heart failure; what is the cause?
A patient has extremely low blood pressure caused by congestive heart failure; unable to provide a urine sample. Patient reports that they have not urinated for two days. Patient is extremely weak and feels terrible. Blood work show elevated levels of urea and imbalance of electroylytes. What is the cause focussing on Renal Functions?

A: I think you should go back to medical college, if you’re asking Yahoo.

For more information about: coenzyme q10 visit the heart and blood site MyHeartyHeart.com today.

Q: Is Coenzyme Q10 right for a 24 year old girl?
I went to a local store they carry it in supplement form. I know you find Coenzyme Q10 in particaulr foods, Is it safe to take it in a supplement form?

A: to tell you the truth, a lot of supplemental stuffs are not FDA approved or thoroughly studied. you take them with your own risk. I assume you are a healthy human being, normal kidney, heart, no diabetes, among other things. assume you dont take any weigh loss products or sinus medications.

Co Q10 may boost your metabolism. you can take it, starting lower dose than recommended from the bottle. when you see no side effects, then you can increase slowly to the recommended dosage.

I hope it helps.
ps. pay attention to your heart rate. and remember to take a lot of fluid.

Q: what is the best form of coenzyme Q10 to take?
I am looking online for coenzyme Q10. I visit iherb.com often. On that site there are so many coenzyme Q10. I do not know what to buy or what to look for, in terms of amount. What is a good price for it? I do not want to pay too much or not enough coenzyme Q10 or too much in my system.

A: Coenzyme Q10 is not a FDA approved medication. It’s considered a “vitamin/herbal product”. Since there is no regulations on the product, it’s very difficult to say which is better, or even that the label has what it claims to have. With herbals, no one is regulating that a bottle that claims to have 60mg of something, really actually has 60mg of it. Often times, manufacturers can vary the amount of coenzyme Q10, even if the label says they contain the same amount. This can even vary with the same manufacturer between different lots.

Since these products are NOT FDA approved, there have been NO clincial trial studies to even say that they actually work. This is not to say that they don’t work (for whatever you are taking it for). But, I’m just saying that there is no clinical evidence that these products do what they say they do.

Unless your physician told you to try this product, you are probably better off seeing a physician and getting a prescription drug that has been proven to have an effect, rather than waste your money on something that may or may not work.

Q: Does coenzyme Q10 really help with blood pressure?
I’ve heard that coenzyme Q10 helps lower blood pressure. Is this really true? What are the side effects, if any?

Thanks

A: It helps a bit like other natural remedies such as fish oil, garlic oil and a few others so often you will need several other natural remedies as well.

If you are on warfarin you must not take coenzyme Q10 as it reduces the effectiveness of the warfarin.

Q: Are coenzyme Q10 and idebenone really good to prevent face skin’s wrinkle?
I have read in paper that people can eat co enzyme Q10 and apply idebenone to their skin to prevent wrinkle formation on their face skin. If so, can parents above 50 years old use them without doctors’ prescription?

A: Idebenone has also been used in topical applications to treat wrinkles.

Q: Is it safe to take vitamin e, chromium picolinate, coenzyme q10 calcium magnesium zinc copper all at once?
I heard they are all good for weight loss…these are the doses…

coenzyme q10 …200mg
vitamin e…..2000mg
chromium picolinate….500-1000mg
calcium……1000mg
magnesium….400mg
zinc….15mg
copper 1mg

Thanks so much!

A: Except for the Vitamin E is it safe—actually, Co-enzyme 10 does not help reduce weight but it is an excellent vitamin for heart health. I’ve been taking it for years along with garlic and vitamin C and you should see my blood pressure!!–Always a svelte 110/68 or close to around that value. Co enzyme 10 is a powerful antioxidant and studies have proven that 100mg of CQ10 with 1000mg garlic and 500mg vitamin C reduces both, the upper and lower value of the blood pressure. In addition to that is it hailed as the anti-aging vitamin, but I am not so sure of that.

With Vitamin E you have to be careful not to overdose because too much can actually affect your retina in a negative way(that’s what my ophthalmologist said). The rest of the vitamins is what you pretty much find in multivitamins, so it is pretty safe to take them all at the same time. My doc suggested that I take vitamins in the mornings instead of the evening because vitamins boost the energy.
If you want to lose weight effectively, I’d like to make a suggestion: eat 1/2 of a large grapefruit while drinking coffee in the mornings and if you like yogurt, eat plenty of that afterwards. I have lost plenty of weight and inches, especially on my belly just with the yogurt alone. Caffeeine is a natural fatburner(but only up to 7 cups per day are safe), and one of the best natural fat burners are grapefruit. Eating grapefruit and drinking coffee at the same time boosts the natural fat-burning ability of the grapefruit and I can tell you from personal experience that it works well. Yogurt has a tendency to clean out your digestive system which leads to additional weight loss and for some reason does it look to me(and others), that yogurt also burns belly fat. So give that a try for a month before you spend a lot of money on vitamins. I have been taking Co-enzyme 10 for years but did not lose weight with it–I also take Vitamin C for years without any weight loss!!

Any vitamins we take are considered medication by the medical community–weather it is prescribed drugs or vitamins or OTC drugs—they all are considered medication and should not be taken without consulting a doctor.

I had gone through some terrible vitamin A overdose with a resulting vitamin B deficiency and a possible lack of calcium, even though I took very good multivitamins. Some vitamins, if they build up in the body prevent the absorption of other vitamins and so we should be careful not to take them without a physicians consent and advice….good luck

Q: I want to take coenzyme Q10 but it is really expensive. Is 30 mg. large enough a dose to be effective?
I would take more, but economic constraints prevent me from doing that. I have heard about the numerous benefits of this antioxidant.

A: It’s hard to answer a question about effective doses when the stuff has no proven effect at all, at any dose.
This is a “dietary supplement,” so it doesn’t have to show effectiveness to be marketed. That’s why you’re seeing testimonials instead of monographs from the medical literature.
Maybe it does some good, maybe it doesn’t, and maybe some dose matters, but it all falls for now into the category of quackery, so do what you want, but caveat emptor.

Q: How is coenzyme Q10 fermentatively produced as a dietery suupplement?
hi bumperduffer…Large scale production of coenzyme Q10?? any idea?

A: Coenzyme Q-10 can be produced by fermentation of yeast from which it is extracted or by biosynthesis involving dimethoxyhydroquinone and specific terpenoids. It is produced by three Japanese and several Chinese companies.

Coenzyme Q-10 has applications as a pharmaceutical supplement for enhancing cell activity [treatment of tumours] and as dietary supplement. Coenzyme Q-10 is often combined with other anti-oxidants including vit E and a-lipoic acid. In Japan coenzyme Q-10 is used in energy drinks. Within the past three years coenzyme Q-10 has been widely used as cosmetic ingredient [anti-wrinkle] especially in Beiersdorf’s Nivea crème.

The consumption of coenzyme Q-10 has increased considerably over the past two years due to its popularity as nutraceutical supplement and cosmetic [anti-wrinkle] ingredient.

The details of the production process to make lots of CoQ10 commercially from fermentations are trade secrets. The most usual raw materials are algae, yeasts or shark cartilage(!!!). The extraction is very temperature dependent and often involves hexane (gasoline). So not something we could easily do in our kitchens.

Sorry that my answer is unsatisfactory but my web-searches do not want to give up the information. I have trawled through the usual Biochemistry and Pharmaceatical journals but none have illuminated my knowledge.

Regards,
Bumperbuffer.

Q: what foods contain coenzyme Q10, bioflavonoids, biotin, or inositol?

A: Many foods contain traces of Q10 and the others but the best place to find what you’re looking for is a health food store.
Many people think that eating turkey on Thanksgiving makes people fall asleep; the scientific truth is you’d have to eat 4 turkeys to get the amount of L-tryptophan to make you feel sleepy!

Q: What does elevated Coenzyme Q10 mean?
apparently, from recent blood tests, it is almost double the normal quantity.

A: i think that is good, it means your body is making a lot and its good for your heart/vascular system, if it was 1/2 as much then they might want to understand why

Q: Do you believe effect of Coenzyme Q10?
I have taken tablets of Coenzyme Q10 for 3 weeks, and it seems to appear the good effects. My skin condition became better, look younger skin. Does this effect really come from taking Coenzyme Q10? Please share your experiences about Coenzyme. I still cannot believe that the vitamin tablets lead to the better skin condition.

A: Hi! I am a skin care specialist and naturalist/herbalist. Yes Co-Q10 works. It is something that naturally occurs in our body and with todays lifestyles we are certainly lacking in it. I highly recommend taking it, not only for the beauty end of it, but because, it is a cancer fighter, and is amazing for your overall health. People eat out to much, fast food, processed foods, to much technology makes us lazy, we all need supplements of some kind, we are all lacking in the beauty area as we don’t get enough nutrition from our diets, so yes I can see that this would help A LOT! Keep taking it. And while your at it do research on natural health, you’d be surprised how great your hair, nails etc can get when you provide your body with needed nutrients.

Q: high blood pressure and coenzyme q10?
My grandmother is on pills for high blood pressure (Atenolol 75mg per day, aspirin 75mg, bendroflumethiazide 2.5mg & coracten xl m/r capules 30mg). She wants to take coenzyme q10 for gum disease, so would it be safe to take it with all this or would she be better off dropping the others and just taking coenzyme q10. Please don’t suggest she ask her doctor as she has and he’s never heard of it.
GiGi Your answer is not irrelevent its helpful thankyou.

A: Coenzyme Q10 must not be taken together with warfarin but should be OK with the ones that you have listed. If she drops the others then the Coenzyme Q10 alone would probably lower her blood pressure a bit but probably nowhere near enough. If the Coenzyme Q10 together with the others lowers her blood pressure more than is required (this is highly unlikely) then she could perhaps drop one of the others or perhaps even more than one. In general natural blood pressure lowering agents are much less effective than the prescription medications but in most cases you avoid those sometimes dreadful side effects that you get from your doctor’s prescription. In view of the fact that she is taking four different blood pressure medications already the extra blood pressure lowering effect of Coenzyme Q10 is likely to be very small so most likely she will have to keep taking those four.

Coenzyme Q10 is also an energy booster.

Q: Does Coenzyme Q10 help to control blood pressure? Which natural supplements are related in lowering blood p?

A: Yes, Coenzyme Q10 has been reported for use in high blood pressure. It is claimed to be of benefit in a variety of cardiovascular diseases including angina.

Other natural products used for blood pressure are

Herbs – Coleus, Dong Quai, Garlic, Hawthorn, Olive leaf and Reishi.

Vitamins/Minerals/Trace Element/ Nutraceutical – Calcium, Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), Fish oils, Flaxseed Oil, Magnesium, Potassium, Taurine.

Q: Are there any Side Effects of Coenzyme Q10? Anyone Taken It?
im thinking about taking 300 mg a day, any thoughts?

A: CoenzymeQ10 is a natural supplement that does not cause side effect.

Q: is taking candesartan, coenzyme Q10 & simvastatin everyday for a year for hypertension and atherosclerosis?
candesartan 6am
coenzyme q10 noon
simvastatin 9pm
everyday for a year…is this safe?
thanks everyone for your answers.

i remain unsure if i should let my father take these 3.

my father has hypertension and aterosclerosis. the cardiologist prescribed candesartan and simvastatin. together for 7 months now, they’ve lowered my father’s BP and blood bad cholesterol level.

however, i have read that simvastatin depletes coenzymeQ10 levels in the body. reduction of coenzymeQ10 in the body may cause other cardiovascular, muscular and even neurotic (like alzheimer’s or parkison’s?) problems.

hence,i’d like to ask my father to start coenzymeQ10 supplementation.

i’ve asked the cardiologist, but she had no idea what coenzymeQ10 is.

my father is not willing to see more doctors and is stubborn.

i’ve read online that coenzymeQ10 may actually improve the beneficial effects of blood pressure medications but it does not specifically mention candesartan. so now,i’m really confused.

any cardiologists in yahoo?
In a study of individuals taking blood pressure medications (including diltiazem, metoprolol, enalapril, and nitrate), CoQ10 supplementation allowed the individuals to take lower dosages of these drugs. This suggests that CoQ10 may enhance the effectiveness of certain blood pressure medications, but more research is needed to verify these results.

A: Good quality Q10 is good for your heart and can reduce your blood pressure.

Q: Is CoEnzyme Q10 as good as they say it is?
I’d like to hear from someone who has taken consistently for 3 months minimum, and what kind of changes you see in your health. Thanks.

A: I’ve been on it 300 mg. per day for the last 6 mos. It keeps the muscle aches caused by Crestor ( cholesterol med. ) manageable. Other than that, I’m not aware of other benefits, but that’s enough for me.

Q: leg cramps?
please advise me i suffer from terrible leg cramps in my foot calfs and thighs not just at night but also through the day.
Today I have experienced cramp in my arm also.
What do you think this could be.
Any tips for relief.

A: It is generally caused by an imbalance in electrolytes: magnesium, calcium, potassium or sodium, for instance. Sweating, diuretics and extreme sports can cause an imbalance in electrolytes resulting in cramping in the leg muscles.
Cramps, in particular leg cramps in non-athletes is often associated with a magnesium deficiency in particular.
Foods rich in magnesium: leafy green vegetables, nuts, seeds and pulses. But because you are having persistent cramps I would opt for a magnesium/calcium combination tablet and take one twice a day until the problem stops and then continue with one a day or 1/2 tablet a day for maintenance. The reason I have suggested a magnesium/calcium combination tablet is because these minerals are needed in proportion (2:1 calcium:magnesium) and calcium can also help with cramps. Calcium/magnesium citrate is more easily absorbed but you can try any formulation really – even the naturally occuring dolomite.

Quinine as a source of magnesium has been traditionally recommended for leg cramps but as a drug it has health risks so I would avoid quinine. In the US, the FDA now specifically discourages using quinine for leg cramps because they say the risks outweigh any benefit based on newly released data. Quinine can cause serious cardiac arrhythmias, a drop in platelet counts (problems with blood clotting), serious interactions with other medications, and allergic reactions. Though the risk is small:

To ensure you get enough potassium and sodium use a Low salt substitute that is a mix of both potassium and sodium. But if you are on heart medication, have diabetes or are on diuretics or have a medical condition requiring meds then talk to a doctor or pharmacist first. foods rich in potassium include: bananas, apples/apple juice, watermelon, apricots, cantaloupe melon, grapefruit/grapefruit juice and parsley.

Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

Q: Leg Cramps?
For the past month, I have been getting random bouts of leg cramps in my one calf. It usually happens while my leg is bent at the knee for long periods of time (sleeping, school, etc.) and when I try to extend the leg, I cannot move it without excrusiating pain. It looks no different, but the pain lasts for at least an hour and a half. I also exercise for about two hours a day, so my calfs are in really good condition. Why is this happening? Is there anything I can do to prevent it?

A: How do you stretch a banana?

It may be a low potassium level, and you can try potassium supplements, but you have to be careful. An excess of potassium can be fatal.

My girlfriend had a similar problem and her doctor recommended quinine water. You can also get quinine pills if the water is not to your liking. You’ll need a prescription for the pills; the water you can buy in most pharmacies and even grocery stores that have a large selection or liquor stores – it’s used with gin in drinks. The doctor also told her it does not work for everyone, and it did not work for my wife’s restless leg syndrome which it also used for.

When you stand up, be sure to put your weight on your foot on the leg that cramps, with your foot flat on the floor. That may minimize the cramp and thus the pain.

You should consult a doctor in any event, since there are some aother possibilities.

Q: Leg cramps?
Does anyone have any home remedies for leg spasms and cramps? I am 35 weeks pregnant and I wake up in the middle of the night with severe charlie horses in my calves. I also get hip pains at night.

A: I did to. Don’t stretch with your toes pointed. When got them i just straightened my leg, pulled my foot back as far as i could and rubbed where it hurt. This may not help much but it’s what i did

Q: leg Cramps?
Im 38 weeks pregnant and almost every night I get really bad leg cramps to the point that I have to get up and walk around in order for them to subside. What causes this and is there anything I can do to prevent it…

A: On your next visit explain this to your doctor and see what he/she recommends, due to your pregnancy. If that appt. has come & gone, give them a call and ask to speak with the nurse.

Congrats!

Q: LEG cramps!?
I have FAIRLY bad leg cramps alot
mostly in the upper area
It hurts bad and it keeps me up at night? it seems it would start in one leg and work its way to the other and then they both ache.. its like an annoying dull pain and wont go away
ANY idea on what could be causing it?

A: Advil is the answer to all problems

Q: LEG CRAMPS????????????????/?
I don’t know exactly if it’s a leg cramp that I’m having…I’m 14 and, it happens often, when I bend my right leg, below my knee starts hurting. I straighten it out and I can barely feel the pain, but when I bend it again, it hurts. Plus, the pain travels down my leg to my ankel and foot. But above my knee, I can’t feel any pain.
What is it?

A: It sounds like growing pains to me. I use to get terribly painful growing pains in the same areas of my legs when I was around the age of 12 to 13 and the pain always occurred at night.

Q: How can you prevent night leg cramps from occurring?
Sometimes while sleeping at night I get very bad cramps in my legs that causes me to awake screaming. What causes this and how can I prevent it? What is actually going on inside my leg? It feels like a large foreign item in my leg turning around and around, slowly moving and knotting up. The pain usually last for a minute or more. I usually just squeeze my leg and scream until it stops. When it finally subside, it leave me exhaulted.

A: Leg cramps are the first place your body targets when you are dehydrated. Drink lots of water! I recommend purified water and Mineral Water mixed 50/50. The Mineral Water is going to put back into the muscles the minerals they are losing on a daily basis. You must drink beyond your thirst to get the benefits of hydration.

I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day. Realize that exercise, ambient temperature, and state of health affect the water needs of your body.

In the evening take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. Afterwards, if you have something shaped like a cylinder and made out of hard material (think of a large rolling pin you would use for pizza dough or something) place it under your leg and push down and roll it back and forth…this should massage the spasms out of your leg. It will hurt while you’re doing it, but more so the type of pain that actually feels good, in the long run. Afterwards massage an analgesic cream into the area. You will start feeling better very quickly.

take 500mg of calcium and magnesium before bedtime. This will also help stop the leg cramps.

Q: What can I do for leg cramps at night and leg pain throughout the day?
I started having terrible leg cramps (calf of leg) at night this week, and then during the day my legs hurt, just ache from pain, I am not a bananna eater so if this is a potasium deficiency, what else can I do? Is there anything over the counter to help? I need to start sleeping at night.

A: My husband get leg cramps. He started taking Potassium pills and he no longer gets the cramps. I know someone that takes Vitamin E for the cramps also.

Q: What causes leg cramps and twitching in early pregnancy?
I’m a little over 5 weeks pregnant and I keep getting leg cramps. Is there a reason for this? Am I lacking protein or am I not staying hydrated enough?

A: There are two common reasons for leg cramping. First, hydration! Just like you thought! Keep drinking the liquids and your leg cramps should go away. Second, potassium! Many women (especially when pregnant) lack this. Try eating a banana each day (or something else high in potassium) if the hydration doesn’t work for you. When pregnant, one of my friends asked her doctor because her leg cramping wouldn’t stop. She ended up eating 3 bananas each day just to avoid the leg cramps! Best wishes!!!

Q: What to do about leg cramps in my donkey?
My donkey gets bad cramps in his back legs often. He usually holds his leg out straight behind him for a while. It is pitiful to see him try to walk.

A: Well, in humans, leg cramps respond to taking over the counter magnesium. I have taken it for years. I would call a veterinarian’s office and ask what to give him and how much.

Q: What causes leg cramps and how can you prevent/cure them?
My partner gets excruciating leg cramps, he may only get one every 6 to 12 months, but when he gets them, they’re terrible. He shot out of bed with pain last night, and when i felt his leg his muscle was half the size it usually is, it completely seized up!

What causes them? How can you prevent them? How do you get rid of them?

A: I find I get them if I don’t drink enough water for a couple days. Make sure he is drinking a good 64 ounces of water a day. Soda doesn’t count as water Also, I eat a banana a day to help my potassium level since leg cramps could be caused by that as well. Since I started making sure of my daily water intake and I eat the banana, I have been fine.

Q: Can leg cramps continues hours or days after a workout?
When i go running, my leg has a horrible pain. I thought it was leg cramps but a lot of people say that leg cramps are supposed to stop when your exercise stops. My pain continues for hours or days even if i don’t exercise again. Can this still be leg cramps?

A: Yes, definitely. Make sure you stretch before workouts and you want to make sure you take plenty of potassium and a little glucosamine for the joints wouldn’t hurt either.

Q: How to reduce the attack of leg or chest cramps?
My leg cramps can come as often as 3 or 4 times per week. The duration can last for as long as 10 mins. I’m not doin serious hard work out or anything that promotes the attack. And lately, chest cramps starts to occur. Is there a problem with my health?

A: The other suggestions given for supplements were good. I suggest you try a Jacuzzi several times a week to stop the muscle spasms. Also a qualified acupressure therapist could help you enormously to where you don’t suffer from cramps or muscle spasms very often.

Q: What is an over the counter treatment for constant leg cramps?
I have constant leg cramps/pain while reclining or sitting tests have ruled out cardiovascular or diabetes issues. I read where if you mix honey, apple cider vinegar and calcium lactate with half a glass of water and drink it daily that that helps. Has anyone done that or know of any other otc remedies?

A: You sound like you are calcium/magnesium deficient. If it was me I would take 2400 mg of calcium and 1000 mg of magnesium daily (get a high quality calcium with Vitamin D). The calcium I buy comes in 600 mg caplets and I take 2 in morning with breakfast and 2 at night before bed. The magnesium I take comes in 250mg doses and so I take 2 in morning with breakfast and 2 at night with dinner.
You might try to do some sunbathing in early morning (7-10am) or late evening (6-8pm) so you are getting plenty of natural vitamin D. Avoid the direct daytime sun as it is too intense. Bathe for 15-120 minutes with as much skin exposed as possible and don’t stay out long enough to burn!
You want to buy raw, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar (such as Bragg’s, sold in health food stores) that contain the “mother”. The vinegar sold at the store such as Heinz has been pasteurized and all the live enzymes have been killed.
You are better served to buy raw, unpasteurized honey from a local bee keeper, again, it has live enzymes.
Hope this all helps!

Q: What causes leg cramps in the middle of the night?
There are times that the horrible pain of leg cramps wakes me up. What causes them and what can I do to help me relieve the pain? Thanks!

A: Standing on cement floors all day can do it try to get a think rubber mat if you must stand.

Take vitamin E and you may have less Charley Horses.

Q: what are the symptoms of heart attack?
does this symptoms also affect rise of blood pressure?

my friend recently feeled something stinging in his chest occassionally, preferably the heart area. he is a hypertensive person and taking his maintenance regularly. and his blood pressure is 120/80.

please advice. thanks

A: OK, is this symptom during exertion or during rest ? is he smoking or not ? These are two basic questions that requires answer at the same time is he walking or not?
Take him to a cardiologist and have his problem sorted out, as I will not give you a preassumptive answer, after it is a life at stake. Forget the symptoms for the time being,OK.

Q: Are the symptoms of heart attack different in men and women?
If so what are the differences.

A: Symptoms are different for everyone. Men can have central chest pain radiating to the left arm, with the shortness of breath and sweating. Women can get vague symptoms, like pressure in the chest. And there are people who don’t have any pain (diabetics). Others symptoms are back pain, dizzy, tooth ache, and people also have the urge to use their bowels.

Q: what are the symptoms for a heart attack in a diabetic patient that is 35 years old?
can some one tell me what the signs and symptoms of a heart attack for a woman that is 35 to 36 years old, known diabetic and has an enlarged heart?

A: Most often the symptoms of a heart attack are shortness of breath chest pressure or tightness, heavy sweating, nausea numbness of the left arm or jaw.

Now you are female and women don’t always show the classical symptoms and add to the fact that you are Diabetic even makes it more difficult to show the classical symptoms. I say this about Diabetics because there is strong correlation with Diabetes and Heart Disease. Another interesting issue is that, many Diabetics develop a Neuropathy ( decreased sensation) throughout their body so they don’t show the classical symptoms.

I really suggest that you see your physician as soon as possible and let him/her know that the symptoms that you are feeling.

Good luck and get in to see your doctor!

Q: when there’s a symptoms of heart attack what kind of water is advisable to drink?
tap or warm water?

A: If you are having a heart attack, you shouldn’t be drinking water anyway because you will probably be going to the cath lab. If you were having a heart attack, why would you even think about drinking any water?

Q: what wil happen if made wrong medication for asthma when you’re supposed to be having symptoms of heart attack
recently am having a feeling of shortness of breath and the doctor prescribed my an inhaler (ventolin). thnkng that am having asthma active sometimes.

but what if am wrong? when it supposed to be symptoms of heart attack? but i dont feel jaw pain, arm pain, having 125 lbs.

i have hypertension, but my bp is maintained thru medication with an average of 120/80 and my ECG is normal recently

does inahler helps in the symptoms of heart attack?

pls. advice

A: the ventolin is not used to treat heart problems of any kind.
i suggest you talk to your doctor . you may also need to be treated for anxiety

Q: What are the symptoms of a heart attack?
What are the symptoms of a heart attack in females?

A: If you’re a woman, you may not believe you’re as vulnerable to a heart attack as men–but you are. Women account for nearly half of all heart attack deaths. Heart disease is the number one killer of both women and men.

There are differences in how women and men respond to a heart attack. Women are less likely than men to believe they’re having a heart attack and more likely to delay in seeking emergency treatment.

Further, women tend to be about 10 years older than men when they have a heart attack. They are more likely to have other conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and congestive heart failure–making it all the more vital that they get proper treatment fast.

Women should learn the heart attack warning signs. These are:

Pain or discomfort in the center of the chest.

Pain or discomfort in other areas of the upper body, including the arms, back, neck, jaw, or stomach.

Other symptoms, such as a shortness of breath, breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea, or light-headedness.

As with men, women’s most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, and back or jaw pain.

If you feel heart attack symptoms, do not delay. Remember, minutes matter! Do not wait for more than a few minutes–5 minutes at most–to call 9-1-1. Your family will benefit most if you seek fast treatment.

Q: what are the symptoms of a heart attack, and how long do they last before you have one?
i have anxiety attacks and am taking ativan… the medicine isnt working 100% because i still feel like crap.. my heart is always racing and am wondering if im coming up on a heart attack?

A: this happened to my mom recently. it was mostly because of stress. now, if we are thinking of the same thing here, it is NOT A BIG DEAL. what would happen to her is her heart would beat in irregular patterns occasionaly. she said it would not hurt her, it was just “uncomfortable” and “different”. I hope this answer calms you down a little. Her stress has gone down a lot so this happens VERY little now. If this does not answer your question or if you still feel worried and uncomforted by this answer, then it NEVER hurts to see a doctor. remember that. once you feel the irregular heart beat patterns you can go to the emergency room, but they will need some sort of proof. well, i hope everything goes well.

Q: what are symptoms of heart attack?
i think im turning vegetable (like not moving at all)and im only 18 is it because i use drugs?

A: oh geeze…..like duh!!!! Chronic drug abuse often leads to cardiac disease and heart attacks, also tends to cause long term health problems you get to deal with as you age, if you live so long.

Q: What are symptoms of heart attack?
I am a 31 yr. old female. Just the last few days I have had some chest pains kind of up into my shoulder. I have had gassiness almost with it but it is kind of sharp on and off in my chest. I wonder if this sounds like something serious? I know I am young. I mean I dont have high cholesterol or blood sugar and i dont smoke. I am overweight however but have taken steps just recently to eat better but this pain is bugging me and I am freaking out over it.

A: Look I’m an EMT and I’ve seen heart problems show in many ways. GET CHECKED. It may be nothing but no one on here can diagnose this. Freaking out wont help so try to calm down. Anxiety will make it worse. If you are really scared the go to the ER.

Q: when are flu-like symptoms a heart attack or just the flu?
I woke up this morning with dizziness and nausea………..proceeded to vomit about 3 times in a span of about 4 hours. This evening I’m better, but still have some nausea. When are “these” symptoms a heart attack? I’m a 65 yr. old women.
Thank you

A: Our friend is 67
She had a heart attack. She just didn’t feel right. She didn’t throw up she said she felt detached from herself. You might want to see a Dr in the morning
feel better soon I think you ate something icky ot just have the flu!

Q: what are symptoms of a heart attack?
i had some chest pains earlier this morning. i had a little shortness in breaths. the pains gone away, but i think i may have had a heart attack. i’m a 28 year old male, and have been sick for the past two days (some kind of stomach flu with vomiting and diarrhea). i don’t have any health insurance or any type of doctor to go to. it’s all too expensive for me, and the money i have won’t even cover one days worth of medical expenses, so i come here to ask, what are symptoms of a heart attack?

A: there’s a bit of me telling me that it might’ve been a heart burn
if you had a bit of stomach flu symptoms maybe you had abdominal cramps but you didn’t realize it. do you remember where exactly it was hurting?
pinpoint it.
was the pain in the center of your chest or to the left?
if it was in the center it was probably heartburn or a stomach cramp.
if it was more to the left you might want to go to the doctor just to be safer.
there are heart disease that you can die from while thinking you have the stomach flu.
when you climb up the stairs does it worsen the pain? is the pain like something heavy is pressing down on you?
hope this helped…

Q: What are the symptoms of heart attack?

A: There are many symptoms:

1. Chest pain – commonly confused with indigestion. The pain will sometimes go away and come back. It feels like a squeezing or full feeling.

2. Pain/numbness in arm – most people assume that it will only be the left arm. That is not true, it can be either or both. The left arm is the most common though.

3. Cold Sweat

4. Nausea

5. Shortness of breath

6. Dizzy

7. Back, neck or jaw pain

Q: can 2D-echo dtects when you’re having symptoms of heart attack?
i was diagnosed 9 months ago for possible heart disease for i had a feeling of shortness of breath sometimes. but the result afterwards, was normal.

right now i had this feeling of shortness of breath mostly every night.. i thought i had an asthma, but it was all negative.

can it be possible for heart attack even though after i was dignosed as negative from 2D echo 9 months ago? i mean is it possible i can have heart attack after 9 months?

but i dont have a feeling of shuolder/arm pain or in jaw. my hands are just sometimes sweaty and cold.

pls .advice.thanks

A: Since you are complaining of shortness of breath, I would suggest calling your doctor right away. Even though your 2-D echo was normal, you could be having problems with arterial blockage. Ask your doctor about getting a cardiac calcium score using a 64-slice CT scanner . Dr. Oz spoke about this on Oprah and states that this is a life saving test. It will show your doctor any plaque build up so he/she is able to properly treat your symptoms.

Q: what are symptoms of heart attack in women?
in the past 3-4 weeks i have had heartburn (i take prilosec) and some vertigo while sitting/standing. also have experienced weakness in knees when standing…like i am gonna collapse. and today i had neck pain right below jaws…i am 59yrs old and kinda scared. i need advice…thanks

A: For women, the symptoms are not as clear cut as for men. While all of the normal symptoms> chest pressure, shortness of breath, dizziness, jaw/left arm pain, profuse sweating< are sometimes found with women, many times there is only one or two of these symptoms, or none of them at all. Basically, if you feel like something is wrong, don't wait to see what happens, just go to the ER and have it checked out... Immediately. You are at a prime age for a heart attack, and the symptoms you describe are alarming. Take 4 of the 80 mg chewable aspirins if you have them and go straight to the emergency room.
My Uncle told family members last year that he thought he may have had a minor heart attack a couple of weeks before their conversation, but thought he was fine since he began taking a couple aspirin every morning and the symptoms were pretty minor. Two days later he had a massive heart attack in front of his 16 year old daughter. He was 54. It was devastating to everyone, and what made it worse is he would still be here today if he had gone to the doctor when he first thought something was wrong. If you go and it turns out your heart is okay… that would be great news. If you don’t, and you have a heart attack, the impact of your death on your loved ones can be devastating.

Q: What are physical symptoms of a heart attack besides chest pains?
Is it possible for someone in their 30s to have one?

A: Heart Attack Warning Signs

Some heart attacks are sudden and intense — the “movie heart attack,” where no one doubts what’s happening. But most heart attacks start slowly, with mild pain or discomfort. Often people affected aren’t sure what’s wrong and wait too long before getting help. Here are signs that can mean a heart attack is happening:

Chest discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.

Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.

Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort.

Other signs may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.

As with men, women’s most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, and back or jaw pain.

Learn the signs, but remember this: Even if you’re not sure it’s a heart attack, have it checked out (tell a doctor about your symptoms). Minutes matter! Fast action can save lives — maybe your own. Don’t wait more than five minutes to call 9-1-1.”

Yes, it is possible to have one in your 30’s but usually a pre-existing condition exists and/or a family history of heart disease. If you are having chest pain you should make sure you do regular breast exams at home and discuss your concerns with your doctor.

Q: At what age do women experience symptoms of Heart Disease?
How early can the disease be detected?

A: 73. It can’t be detected. Doctors will always assume the symptoms are acid reflux. So if you regurgitate your food and you’re approaching the big seven O, you might want to start getting your affairs in order. Just kidding. Symptoms can occur at any age but usually begin during and after menopause. Yes heart disease can be detected early on and should be checked regularly if you have risk factors such as, diabetes, high blood pressure or cholesterol, family history. Don’t end up like my momma. The above story is true. it happened to her. Make sure you see a heart specialist, not some small town quack.

Q: Are these symptoms of heart disease?
I get choking feelings sometimes, and experience extreme weakness. For 3 days now, I am feeling pain when I press the left side or when there is movement involving the upper chest,
just off the centre. Are these signs of a heart ailment. If it is not what should I do to help prevent this discomfort.

A: If you can reproduce the pain by pushing on an area of your chest, this is probably muscular in origin and you can take pain medication for this (tylenol or ibuprofen). If you are over 40, the rest of the symptoms should be evaluated by a doctor.

Q: Can someone tell me what are the symptoms of heart disease?

A: Chest pain with or without undue perspiration, breathlessness, giddiness, edema. Can be totally without symptoms also.

Q: If an 18 year old has had symptoms of heart disease for 8 months is it too late?
If they went to the doctor today would they be ok, or would the doctors say you are too late?
SYMPTOMS:

Tingly feeling in back
Tiny wrinkles in back
Wierd feeling in my whole body(like something is touching my bare skin but it is not)
High BP
also the right side of my chest used to be the same as my left now it is bigger

A: The tingling symptoms you are saying are very interesting and should not alert you to think heart disease.

High blood pressure can cause heart problems but usually does not mean heart disease.

When an 18 year old has heart disease it is usually of congenital origin, meaning having it since birth.

If you have concerns about your health, see your doctor. However, these symptoms are not highly suggestive of heart disease.

Being “too late” would be something they would say if you died. Heart disease patients benefit from one thing, there is almost ALWAYS options to keep them alive, with the last straw being heart transplantation (very rare).

However, cancer patients (such as most pancreatic cancer) may find out that it is too late.

Q: What are the symptoms of Coronary heart disease and how do you get it?
This is for a ‘Home Economics’ school project, where I need to make a leaflet on Coronary Heart Disease. Help with this will be greatly appreciated.

A: why dont u just search it on google, theres tonnes of stuff……

Q: what do you do if symptoms of heart disease appear?
besides go to the doctor.

A: The American Heart Association website can help you to a healthier lifestyle www.americanheart.org . You can make sure your diet is a healthy one, decrease your stress and engage in some form of relaxation, quit smoking and drinking if you do, take the omega 3 oils, and CALL YOUR DOCTOR for an appointment. Also, I would not engage in any form of exercise more strenuous than walking until your doctor has checked you out. Oh, and did I mention, CALL YOUR DOCTOR.

Q: Only serious answers please. What are the exact symptoms of heart worm disease?
How does the infestation happen? Does it first go through the stomach and then to the heart?

A: Heartworms go through several life stages before they become adults infesting the heart of the host animal. The worms require the mosquito as an intermediate stage in order to complete their life cycle and so at least two animal hosts other than the mosquito are required for the heartworm to reproduce. A mosquito ingests heartworm larvae, called microfilariae, from an infected host. The mosquito then transfers the larvae to another uninfected host when next it feeds. The microfilariae then go through several changes to reach adult form, eventually traveling to the right side of the heart to reproduce. Reproduction results in the dispersal of microfilariae into the bloodstream where ingestion by another feeding mosquito spreads the microfilariae to another host.

At this stage, the host dog will likely be asymptomatic. Once the infestation reaches a certain concentration in the lungs, the now adult worms migrate from the pulmonary artery to the right side of the heart and begin to reproduce in earnest, filling the blood with microfilariae. At this point the host will begin to show symptoms of infestation. These symptoms can manifest earlier or increase in severity depending on the activity level of the animals as infestation reduces cardio-pulmonary capacity. Very active animals may experience symptoms at lower heartworm concentrations and have more severe symptoms than less active animals.

Heartworms can reach up to 12 inches in length and can remain in the host’s heart for several years.

Q: what are the symptoms of a heart disease?
what are the symptoms of it cause i felt that i have a heart disease but my family said that there is nothing to worry cause i have no problem in my health!!!

A: if you had a hard time to breath and sometimes you’re feel that there’s someone holding you’re heart hat cause something that hurt you!!!

and try to go a doctor for you’re safety…..

take care you’re self……

Q: what are the symptoms of heart disease in women?

A: The symptoms of heart disease in women are the same symptoms as in men – chest pain or tightness, shortness of breath especially on walking or lying flat in bed, dizziness, palpitations, irregular heart beat, etc, etc. Many of these symptoms may also be due to other disease (such as heartburn which can mimic chest pain/tightness) rather than heart disease, so it is not easy to self-diagnose yourself. See a doctor if you are worried.

Q: Could medication and proper diet alone, help cure or relieve symptoms, of heart disease?

A: Yes, it is certainly possible. There are many types of heart diseases. Some types of heart disease will improve with an appropriate diet and medications. Other types of heart disease may not. Medications and dietary changes have been shown to reduce the chance of death after a heart attack and the chance of another heart attack. It does not necessarily cure the disease, though. Heart failure can also improve with medications, which have been shown to improve survival, reduce hospitalizations and symptoms. It is therefore definitely possible that medications and a healthy diet can improve symptoms, but it is unlikely to actually cure the disease. It is best to prevent the disease from developing in the first place with appropriate diet and regular exercise. It is always easier to prevent a disease then treat it.

Q: What are some different forms of heart disease, the symptoms and causes of disfunction?
There you go

A: Cardiovascular disease includes a number of conditions affecting the structures or function of the heart. They can include:

Coronary artery disease (including heart attack)
Abnormal heart rhythms or arrythmias
Heart failure
Heart valve disease
Congenital heart disease
Heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy)
Pericardial disease
Aorta disease and Marfan syndrome
Vascular disease (blood vessel disease)

Here is a site that lists all the symptoms of the different forms of HD:

http://www.webmd.com/content/pages/9/1675_57855.htm

The overwhelming cause of coronary heart disease is atherosclerosis. This is a build-up of fatty materials within the walls of the arteries.

Q: How early can heart disease start?
I was looking at symptoms of heart diseases and saw that I had three of them. Lately I’ve been having constant Palpitations and I’ve been short of breath and have been getting dizzy a lot. I’m only 15 and I’m definetly not overweight. Does anyone if it could be something serious or am I just thinking too much?

A: I was born with a defective heart valve, but didn’t know it until I was 32. Looking back, I had all the symptoms, but I was told I was just “out of shape” or “a whimp” when I didn’t want to run or play hard.

Print out what you’ve read and keep track of when it happens and what you are doing when it happens, then go see your dr.

Q: Why does the medical profession claim cholesterol is the cause or even a symptom of heart disease?
The fundamental cause of most cardiovascular problems is a condition called atherosclerosis, often referred to as “clogging” or “hardening” of the arteries. Most people, even doctors, believe that this is caused by having too high a level of cholesterol in your bloodstream, but if you examine all the statistics on heart disease in industrialized nations, this theory just doesn’t hold up.

A comparison of different western cultures and their rate of heart disease demonstrates that there is no correlation to cholesterol levels. Switzerland, where people have higher levels of cholesterol than any other European country, has one of the lowest rates of heart attacks of any industrialized nation. In Russia, which has a very high rate of heart disease, people have one of the lowest average levels of cholesterol of any nation.

There are as many people with low cholesterol dying of heart disease as those with high levels of cholesterol. How did this myth come about? How does any rational or logical mind make any sense of this?

A: First there there was the French paradox. A country with high fat consumption but low instances of heart disease. Then came the Spanish paradox. Another country with high fat consumption and low heart disease. Does anyone want to know how many paradoxes there are currently?

I don’t know about you, but if a hypothesis has that many paradoxes, maybe maybe it is possibly not correct? But you see, for the pro-lipid hypothesis crowd, it is not an hypothesis. It is an ideology because a hypothesis can actually be wrong. Statinators practice faith based medicine, not evidence based medicine.

Allow me to point out this study:

Safety and efficacy of achieving very low low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels with rosuvastatin 40 mg daily (from the ASTEROID Study).

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19576317

Here’s the relevant passage:

“Similarly, the on-treatment atheroma volume, change in atheroma volume, and high percentage of subjects with atheroma regression did not differ by the achieved LDL cholesterol. In conclusion, although the power to detect such changes was limited, these data showed no clear relation between the LDL cholesterol achieved by intensive statin therapy with rosuvastatin and adverse effects. Atheroma regression occurred in most patients and was not linked to the LDL cholesterol achieved.”

Does everyone get that? Lowering LDL has no effect on heart disease.

I have pointed out before that any benefit from statins comes from its anti-inflammatory effects. You can get the same from an aspirin without the crippling side effects from a statin. That is good news for the average consumer. Not so good for the drug companies. Unfortunately, most patients think the “M.D.” in their doctor’s title stands for “Medical Deity”. They do not question the potentially crippling side effects of statins or perform any research on whether the drug is actually effective. Very bad for the consumer, but very good for the drug companies.

Q: early symptoms of heart disease?
i’m 36 and over the last year i have been getting chest pains followed by a shooting pain down my left arm and sometimes in my back. it makes me want to itch its such a sharp pain.

i also get very breathless lately and get tired easily. i get the occassional palpatations and the doc said it was anxiety so i started taking st johns wort.

i have no family history of heart disease…although my grandad died of a heart attack when he was mid 70’s…but that was because he had anunderlying problem and he hated going to the doctors!

i am slim and i used to be fairly active until a year ago when i have become more housebound due to moving to the country and no car! my blood presure has always been normal. i had the latest check done at asda pharamacy and the diastolic was high but i was told if its usually normal it could be due to the strong coffee i had just drunk or the jog i did into the pharamcy lol

i have had a constant heavy feeling in my chest for the last year too..like i have a contstant cold/congestion. i permanently have a blocked nose.

when i do excercise and i try taking my pulse it’s all over the place and often i can’t feel it in my wrist and have to use my neck

do you think the pains are due to my heart or my chest/lungs i have no risk factors for heart disease??? but i am very worried. i have kids to care for and i have seen friends lost already to heart attacks and it scares me.
the doc said is was anxiety and packed me off with wacky pills and refered me for counselling. also asked how i’m coping with the kids. not once did she bother even consider my heart…obviously its easier to say i’ve got anxiety and stress! i walked out feeling like a nutter!
i was born with a hole in my heart also had had to have ecg’s when i was a baby. but i was discharged in the end

A: Being a male puts you at risk for heart disease to start with. Having family history, with your grandfather having under lying problems or not, puts you at risk for heart disease.

High cholesterol, smoking, high blood pressure, and diabetes are four major risk factors for heart disease.
The best way to see if you have heart disease and see if the chest pains are real or not is a CT scan of your heart. This test shows coronary artery disease in it’s earliest stages and it is 98% accurate.

Besides all said and done, you must change your physician to someone who cares a bit more about his/her patients. This is unacceptable. Chest pain should not be ignored, unless all necessary tests are performed. He has done very little.

Q: symptoms of heart disease?
i knoow im really young but ive had really bad chest pains since the age of 9 till now (age 18). when i was little i use to cry it hurt so bad. i went to numerous doctors because the pain wouldnt stop and it was on and off throughout the day. I talked to my doctor today and he said your telling me all the signs of heart disease that you say your having, but dont worry u dont have that your to young for anything to be seriously wrong. why for why for 9 years then i still have this problem? i know somthing is wrong you should not pass out from chestpain and be just fine. is it possible i have heart disease at age 18?

A: Well the answer to your question is yes, because in medicine anything is TECHNICALLY possible. However it is very unlikely. Obviously I don’t know the type of lifestyle you’ve been living but generally 18 year old’s do not suffer from it. Chest pain does not always mean heart condition, there are many other things like ribs, tendons, lungs, and even your stomach can produce pains that mimic chest pains, hence the term “heartburn”. My suggestion is a) confirm that it is not medical by asking to have an EKG done, and an X-ray as well so they can take a look in there. After a medical condition is ruled out, believe it or not it likely is psychological. If you read the symptoms of an anxiety attack you will see that it mimics that of a heart attack, in fact many people who experience them wind up in the emergency room because they believe they are having a heart attack. I highly doubt that for 9 years you’ve been experiencing this pain because of heart disease, in fact heart disease generally does not exhibit any symptoms until it kills you and I assure you that you have not been dying for 9 years! So plan b) speak to a Psychiatrist and a Psychologist after a medical condition is ruled out and there are tons of medications that will likely end your suffering. All in all don’t freak out it probably is not medical.

Q: Bob Dylan. Do you like the Lyrics to This Song – Desolation Row ?
They’re selling postcards of the hanging
They’re painting the passports brown
The beauty parlor is filled with sailors
The circus is in town
Here comes the blind commissioner
They’ve got him in a trance
One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker
The other is in his pants
And the riot squad they’re restless
They need somewhere to go
As Lady and I look out tonight
From Desolation Row

Cinderella, she seems so easy
“It takes one to know one,” she smiles
And puts her hands in her back pockets
Bette Davis style
And in comes Romeo, he’s moaning
“You Belong to Me I Believe”
And someone says,” You’re in the wrong place, my friend
You better leave”
And the only sound that’s left
After the ambulances go
Is Cinderella sweeping up
On Desolation Row

Now the moon is almost hidden
The stars are beginning to hide
The fortunetelling lady
Has even taken all her things inside
All except for Cain and Abel
And the hunchback of Notre Dame
Everybody is making love
Or else expecting rain
And the Good Samaritan, he’s dressing
He’s getting ready for the show
He’s going to the carnival tonight
On Desolation Row

Now Ophelia, she’s ‘neath the window
For her I feel so afraid
On her twenty-second birthday
She already is an old maid

To her, death is quite romantic
She wears an iron vest
Her profession’s her religion
Her sin is her lifelessness
And though her eyes are fixed upon
Noah’s great rainbow
She spends her time peeking
Into Desolation Row

Einstein, disguised as Robin Hood
With his memories in a trunk
Passed this way an hour ago
With his friend, a jealous monk
He looked so immaculately frightful
As he bummed a cigarette
Then he went off sniffing drainpipes
And reciting the alphabet
Now you would not think to look at him
But he was famous long ago
For playing the electric violin
On Desolation Row

Dr. Filth, he keeps his world
Inside of a leather cup
But all his sexless patients
They’re trying to blow it up
Now his nurse, some local loser
She’s in charge of the cyanide hole
And she also keeps the cards that read
“Have Mercy on His Soul”
They all play on penny whistles
You can hear them blow
If you lean your head out far enough
From Desolation Row

Across the street they’ve nailed the curtains
They’re getting ready for the feast
The Phantom of the Opera
A perfect image of a priest
They’re spoonfeeding Casanova
To get him to feel more assured
Then they’ll kill him with self-confidence
After poisoning him with words

And the Phantom’s shouting to skinny girls
“Get Outa Here If You Don’t Know
Casanova is just being punished for going
To Desolation Row”

Now at midnight all the agents
And the superhuman crew
Come out and round up everyone
That knows more than they do
Then they bring them to the factory
Where the heart-attack machine
Is strapped across their shoulders
And then the kerosene
Is brought down from the castles
By insurance men who go
Check to see that nobody is escaping
To Desolation Row

Praise be to Nero’s Neptune
The Titanic sails at dawn
And everybody’s shouting
“Which Side Are You On?”
And Ezra Pound and T. S. Eliot
Fighting in the captain’s tower
While calypso singers laugh at them
And fishermen hold flowers
Between the windows of the sea
Where lovely mermaids flow
And nobody has to think too much
About Desolation Row

Yes, I received your letter yesterday
(About the time the door knob broke)
When you asked how I was doing
Was that some kind of joke?
All these people that you mention
Yes, I know them, they’re quite lame
I had to rearrange their faces
And give them all another name
Right now I can’t read too good
Don’t send me no more letters no
Not unless you mail them
From Desolation Row

Thank you

A: What’s not to understand? It’s a presentation of decadence, with fairy tale figures and cultural icons all thrown into the soup of self-interested regard–pathetic creatures worthy only of amused contempt. The world is a self-defeating, depraved place. He sings about it.

The one creature who is less pathetic is the speaker of the last stanza, the “I” who can simply “rearrange the faces” (whatever that means) of the inadequate (“lame”) and call them for what they are. There is more than a little self-pity here. He is put upon and feels himself dragged down by all these other inadequate beings. Poor baby! It’s an adolescent statement of his superiority and wallows in sadness for himself, like Holden Caulfield in _The Catcher in the Rye._

This doesn’t mean that the speaker’s vision of his limited world as a depraved place is necessarily incorrect, and the song, however much it falls short of a commanding vision, is amusing in its presentation of absurd, surreal effeteness. As pop music it’s fine; anything too stupid to be said can be sung, and the vocabulary and reference here is wider than in most rock and roll. However, it’s still an immature vision.

Praise be to neros neptune
The titanic sails at dawn
And everybodys shouting
Which side are you on?
And ezra pound and t. s. eliot
Fighting in the captains tower
While calypso singers laugh at them
And fishermen hold flowers
Between the windows of the sea
Where lovely mermaids flow
And nobody has to think too much
About desolation row

Yes, I received your letter yesterday
(about the time the door knob broke)
When you asked how I was doing
Was that some kind of joke?
All these people that you mention
Yes, I know them, theyre quite lame
I had to rearrange their faces
And give them all another name
Right now I cant read too good
Dont send me no more letters no
Not unless you mail them
From desolation row

A: Wow, I had forgotten the power of the Bob Dylan song/poem.
It seems to mean that between the dream/ideal and the outcome there is only disappointment and reality.

Q: What do you people have against Frank Lampard?
Seriously I’ve been reading different questions and answers about Lamps and it seems to me all you can do is slag him off.

He was/is statistically the best player of the last decade; scoring the fourth highest amount of goals, playing the highest games (164 consecutive).

Just because he isn’t scoring goals doesn’t mean he isn’t performing on the pitch and he won’t hide from play he’ll be at the heart of it tackling and trying to win the ball back for his team (whether it be England or Chelsea)

Not only is he a superb footballer, but he’s modest, Intelligent and down to Earth.

He got several GCSE’s (including an A* in Latin…which is better than Stevie Gerrard who barely managed to scrape a few decent results), and his generosity and the fact that he is down to Earth is shown in his support for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Despite the fact his dad was a famous footballer, doesn’t mean Lampard got the easy route into the world of football (no matter what West Ham fans like to think) he still had to slog his guts out and improve on every aspect of his game (which he has done brilliantly)

But like Lampard said in his autobiography (which I think everyone should read because it’s a good book, whether you like him or not)

“It’s easy to attack a young lad with very little self confidence, but I’d like to see that same bloke come up to me now and tell me I’m no good”

I believe that no matter if West Ham fans thought he got into the team because of his Uncle and dad being part of the management set up, by moving to Chelsea in 01/02 season, he has undoubtedly proved he is a truly world class player.

xox

A: Frank Lampard has done more to damage his reputation with West Ham than even Paul Ince did.

Frank Lampard has continued to lie about events and say rubbish about the club that gave him his chance. Yes When frank Lampard began his football career it was suspected that he got the chance above others due to his family connections, this is natural since his uncle (Harry Redknap) and father (frank Lampard senior) were Manager and Assistant Manager. After a few games only a very minor number of people were saying this. Lampards Talent was clear.

Lampard tells a story of when he broke his leg at Aston Villa and the West Ham fans booed him. Funny i was at that game. Aston Villa played on with Lampard lay on the floor holding his leg. The West ham fans were screaming for the ball to be put out. lampard got a standing ovation from the west ham supporters as he left the pitch.

Lampard has created the problem with west ham, most likely due to the fact that his dad was fired by the club just before he requested to be sold.

Woh, that was somewhat hard! I’m a little iffy on number 1, 6, 8, 14 and 19!
19 was a stumper, I was thinking Hana Kimi first because she cuts her hair and pretends to be a guy and the school lets her in by accident – but your quiz is specifically on anime series, and Hana Kimi hasn’t been adapted. So my other option was OHSHC, but Haruhi isn’t mistaken for a boy by the school (she was given a scholarship and accepted there), she was mistaken as a boy by the host club. For that reason, I was super unsure about number 19.

    ★Introduction

Zacaria Moussaoui was a member of al Qaeda. He was a terrorist who involved in plans of 9/11. First he admitted that he was involved with al Qaeda, but claimed he was not involved in the 9/11 attacks. But later he admitted that he knew about the 9/11 attacks and did nothing to stop them. He wanted to die so he could become a martyr. But the jurors rejected it. Finally he sentenced to life in prison.

★3 Paraphrases

Moussaoui was born in France of Moroccan and speaks 4 different languages. In 1992 He moved to London to improve his English speaking skills and also went to college there. While he was there, he discovered Islamic extremism. He came to the U.S in 2001, and enrolled in a flight school in Oklahoma. He dropped out before his graduation and went to an al Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan. His visa expired in May, so he was held at a local jail.
On August 16, 2001, Moussaoui was arrested by Harry Samit of the FBI and INS agents in Minnesota. Because he was charged with an immigration violation. 1 month later he was moved from Minnesota to New York, where he is held as a material witness. On December 11, 2001, Moussaoui was indicted by a federal grand jury in United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on 6 felony charges which are related to the 9/11 attacks. On March 27, 2006, Moussaoui testified that he and Richard Reid had planned to crash a hijacked airplane into the White House in the 9/11 attacks. But it was too late. It was after he lied and 3000 people died.
Moussaoui didn’t even warn anybody about the attacks after he was arrested in August. The Supreme Court refused to hear his appeal. So Moussaoui sent Judge Brinkema a letter saying that he wanted to plead guilty. The judge found him mentally competent and accepted his plea. On February 6, 2006 Jury selection begun in the trial to determine Moussaoui’s sentence life or death. So finally on april 3, 2006 they found that Moussaoui’s lying to federal agents was responsible for deaths on 9/11 and he was found eligible for Death Penalty. But about 1 month later jurors rejected to agree on a sentence of death .Here’s the reanson of why they thought he should get a life in prison: During the trial, judge said ‘Mr. Moussaoui, you came here to be a martyr in a great big bang of glory. But to paraphrase the pet T.S.Eliot,instead you will die with a whimper.’ When he tried to interrupt, the judge said ‘You will never get a chance to speak again and that’s an appropriate ending’.After being sentenced to life in prison, Moussaoui clapped and claimed “ America, you lost, I won” .

★ Conclusion
why is this case famous? Because 9/11 is one of the biggest terrorist attacks. Everybody knows about it . It destroyed World Trade Center buildings and many people’s heart. We could have saved their lives if Moussaoui didn’t lie. It wouldn’t happen if he warned sombody about the attacks. He didn’t even say he was sorry. He did it for himself. He wanted to be honored as a hero. But he got what he deserved. he senteced to life in prison and live in shame for the rest of his life. If they had killed him, he wouldn’t have the feeling that he had failed. Life in prison will be really tough for him. Imagine a life without any joy. now he has to live with himself. I mean honestly something is wrong with his brain. wtf was he thinking? Is he insane or retarded? The reason of why he lied is just because he wanted his plan would be successful? So he could be a hero? It’s ridiculous. Someday he may regret his horrible mistake and cry, “ Oh my gosh. What the hell have i done? ”
HE LATER admitted that he knew about the 9/11 attacks and had done nothing to stop them. He wanted to die so he could become a martyr.
The reason that this case is famous is that the 9/11 attacks are known worldwide as one of the worst terrorist attacks in history. It destroyed the World Trade Center and many people’s livelihoods. We could have saved their lives if Moussaoui didn’t lie. He foolishly believed that the execution of 9/11 would result in him being viewed as a ‘hero’ amongst his people. Someday he may regret his horrible mistake and cry, “ Oh my gosh. What the hell have I done? ”

Q: Have you ever felt forced into choosing one parent or another?
Have you ever had one parent feel hurt or betrayed? How did you cope? What did you do?

(Feel free to disregard the following which just provides helpful context for my question if you’re not interested in hearing about me.)

My parents divorced when I was very young. I was born in the US but my parents had agreed they would return to Israel after my birth. My mother changed her mind. She did not want to raise a family, especially a daughter, in a “war zone”. (Tel Aviv is actually pretty safe.)

To give an idea how deep this runs: my mother never calls me “Juditha” because I was named for a woman warrior famous for beheading a man. Because of that, most people in the US, starting from school, know me by my middle name and my brothers called me “J.D.” so not to choose sides.

(My father’s not a warmonger: he actually wanted me to be a conscientious objector. He thinks Israel needs more strong voices who support peace.)

Anyway, recently I decided to have my wedding in the US rather than Israel (or Spain, where my fiancee is from) and as I expected my mother was overjoyed and my father fully supported me. I’m used to his always being very supportive, so what came next was upsetting.

When I explained that I am now thinking I may never be able to return to Israel because of my health (I was diagnosed with a heart condition and because of PTSD from my Israeli military service, I am genuinely concerned that even seeing all the security and military personnel at Ben Gurion Airport might set of a panic attack that could worsen my heart or kill me), he said, “You’re sounding like your mother.”

I know that’s not that harsh but I could tell he was VERY hurt. It also seems like he’s dismissing the health concerns as just me being melodramatic like Mama is known to do. We changed the topic and things were awkward but I know he’s feeling I’ve chosen my mother’s “side” and I don’t know how to make him understand.

A: well my parents basically had to get married. they were 18/19 in catholic communist poland and mum was pregnant. so im not sure if there ever was any love between my parents. my mum drank a lot and my dad gambled heavily. there were always problems, like fights over money, etc.

my dad eventually had had enough and told my mum to leave (i was 16). she complied but kept asking me to come with her. i said no. its not because i didnt want to go with her (my mother is a very intelligent and articulate woman, she just made some bad choices in her life), but i didnt want to leave my home. i have lived here all my life and i didnt just want to ripped from it. i love my dad as well and if the situation had been reversed, i would have said no to him as well.

my mum kept thinking i was choosing my dad over her, but in fact i wasnt choosing him at all. i was choosing my home, where i feel safe and comfortable, and have felt so for most of my life. if it really ever came down to it, i dont think i could ever choose between them. i love them both too much to do so

Q: does my story sound good?
Captured by True Love
Serena- she is the main character. Serena is a powerful witch. She lost her parents in a dreadful attack by werewolves and vampires. Serena and her older twin brother are the sole survivors of the Karda People. Serena older brother Damon joined the man who destroyed her people. She is a gothic type girl who shows no emotions. Serena and her twin live with their human aunt and uncle. She is then reunited with her childhood friend Morgead when she is sent to slay him in return her employer will share information about the day of Black Sun. But when she confronts Morgead in disguise, she begins to feel an odd emotion that she never felt before. Later it is finally discovered that Serena and Morgead are Lovers. Two people destined for one another.
Morgead- he’s a powerful and ruthful vampire. Morgead has been the son of darkness for centuries. He dispised humans. Yet, there was one particular human he enjoyed to be around. She was a true daughter of the Karda people. She was gentle and ruthful like himself. Her name was Serena and he would do anything for her. Then came the day the Karda people came no more and he lost his Serena.

Hello, my name is Serena Karda. I’m fifteen years old. I have long black hair with the brightest pink eyes you would ever imagine. My hair is past my shoulders but I always has it up. My older twin brother name is Nickolas. He was born two hours ahead of me. Nick has light brown hair with bright pink eyes. His personality is totally different from mine. Why he is calm and gentle, I am an emotionless teen. My older brother name is Damon. He’s twenty one years old. Damon has black hair with clear blue eyes. Damon is a bad brother. He joined the man who destroyed our entire clan. My mother was once a famous performer of our clan the Karda people. She had long brown hair with bright blue eyes. She was very beautiful. My mother was performing at the concert of her dreams and my father the Karda only heir was there. When their eyes met, it was love at first sight. My mother married my father on her eighteenth birthday. When she was nineteen she had Damon and six years later, Nick and I were born. My father was delighted to have a family. He had midnight black hair with bright pink eyes. He was the prince of the Karda people. But our happy life soon came to a tragic end when Nick and I turned nine. It was a stormy night and we were all sound asleep. I was awakened by my mother who was holding Nick. She carried me and him through a hidden passage and took us to our human aunt and uncle’s house. My mother handed us to them and kissed us farewell. She took off and that was the last time when we saw our mother alive. We weaped at our people’s burial but I came to realize that my mother saved me from death for a reason. She wanted me to avenge our people and restore the Karda name. for it is Nick and I who are the only sole remaining heirs. I have become a powerful witch and my brother is studying to become a warlock. My aunt enrolled us at a human school. She told us that it would help us communicate more but Nick and I have learned to stick together during good and bad times. We are always together, nobody can separate twins. It’s the tight bond we share. Nick is not a fighter, he’s a guide. I admire him for his gentleness and good heart. He doesn’t care for giving orders, he wants to try and support what I have been training for since I was eleven. My magic teacher has recently past away and left his magic spell book in my hands. I must be a weapon to help restore my people, even if I have to give up everything for my brother’s protection. I am willing to give up my everything. So the next morning. My cousins Sara and Stefan were waiting for us.
I was changing into my private school uniform. Then I brushed my hair and left.
“It’s about time,” said Sara. “We are terrible sorry, but we overslept,” answered Nick. “Awe, it’s alright,’ said Stefan in his tired voice. “Well, shall we?” asked Sara. I climbed in the backseat of Sara’s mustang and read some of the higher magic spells. Sara turned on the radio. “Oh, I love this song!” she cried and turned up the volume. “Are you trying to make me deaf?” Stefan complained. I turned my head and stared out the window for the rest of the ride. “You okay?” whispered Nick. I nodded and showed him my happy face, but inside I was not happy. My inside was empty and lonely. Sara pulled into her usual parking place. Nick got out and I followed him. “See you,” said Sara and Stefan. Nick led the way to first period, American history. “Are you up to this human school?” he whispered. “Yes, it cannot be helped anyways,” I answered smiling and walked up the stairs to my first class. I could sense Nick’s worriless for me.
During our lunch hour. I sat on the outside bench and read through the chapters of a level high enough to stun a group of enemies. Nick was chowing down his ramen noodles. “Hey, you should eat thi

A: You write that Morgead falls for one human, though Serena and Nick have at least once said “Human school”..it kinda confuses me, sorry!

Here is an idea of how to make it a bit better:

I’m Serena Karda, the youngest child and only girl of three. My twin brother, Nickolas, was born two hours ahead of me, and trust me when I say we are nothing alike. Nick has light brown hair, although we do share the abnormal bright pink eyes, a common trait in our family yet he is calm and always tries to help others, while I try to never show my emotions. It would just show weakness. My other brother is Damon. He’s twenty one years old and shares my black hair, though he is blue-eyes. He is also a traitor and a bad brother, after all, only an evil coward like Damon would join the man who destroyed our entire clan, including our parents. My mother was once a famous performer of our clan, the Karda people. She was absolutely beautiful, with Damon’s blue eyes, except hers showed warmth and love, instead of the ice held in my brothers. I can remember very clearly the story she always told us, the one where she and my father, the Karda’s only heir back then.
“It was at the concert of my dreams.” She used to say, whilst running her slender hands through mine and Nick’s hair. “When our eyes met, it was love at first sight, and on my eighteenth birthday, we wed. A year later I had Damon and six years after that, you twins were born. Your father never failed to mention how delighted he was to finally have a family of his own.” My father, the Prince of the Karda clan, was very similar in looks to me, in the sense that he too had midnight black hair with bright pink eyes. But our happy life soon came to a tragic end on mine and Nick’s ninth birthday. Lightning was striking everywhere, the sound of thunder making it hard for me to sleep, though eventually I did. I was awakened a couple hours later by my mother who was holding Nick’s hand. I can remember very clearly how terrified she looked. She took us through a hidden passage and took us to our aunt and uncle’s house, our only human relatices. My mother handed us to them and kissed us farewell. She left us and that was the last time when we saw our mother alive. When the time came, we weeped at our peoples’ burial but eventually I came to realize that my mother saved me from death for a reason. She wanted me to avenge our people and restore the Karda name, since Nick and I are the sole remaining heirs. I have learned become a powerful witch and my brother is studying to become a warlock.
So far it has been okay, except for the fact that she enrolled us at the local school. “It will help you communicate more,” she told us when our Uncle broke the bad news. Nick and I have learned to stick together during good and bad times. We are always together after all nobody can separate twins.
My brother amazes me most time, after all Nick is not a fighter, he’s a guide. I admire him for his gentleness and good heart. He doesn’t care for giving orders, he wants to try and support what I have been training for since I was eleven. My teacher, a great warlock, has recently passed away and left his spell book in my hands. I know I must be a weapon to help restore my people, even if I have to give up everything for my brother’s protection. I am willing to give up my everything. So for the time being, I have to attempt being human. The next morning, our cousins Sara and Stefan were waiting for us.
My morning ritual is pretty simple. Wake up, get dressed, brush hair and teeth and skip breakfast.
“It’s about time,” Sara sighed, twisting a lock of her golden blonde hair around her fingers.
“We are terribly sorry, but we overslept,” answered Nick.
“It’s alright,” Stefan yawned, still clearly not awake.
“Well, shall we?” asked Sara. I climbed in the backseat of Sara’s mustang and read some of the higher magic spells. Sara turned on the radio. “Oh, I love this song!” she cried and turned up the volume. “Are you trying to make me deaf?” Stefan complained. I turned my head and stared out the window for the rest of the ride, observing the lack of natural objects on the way. “You okay?” whispered Nick. I nodded and showed him my happy face, something I had trained myself to do just to make Nick happy. In reality inside I felt empty and lonely. Sara pulled into her usual parking place then Nick got out and, as usual, I followed him. “See you,” called Sara and Stefan, in unison.
Nick led the way to first period, American history. “Hey, Serena, are you up to this human school thing?” he whispered.
“Yes, anyway it can’t exactly be helped, can it?” I answered smiling and trying to mask my true feelings as we walked up the stairs to the first class. I could sense Nick’s worries for me, which in turn made me feel guilty, but like I said, I will never show weakness.
The classes passed by with the usual swots answering all the questions, and the rest of us letting them do the work we coul

Q: What do you think it felt like living in america as an japenese-american during world war two in 1942??!!?
JAPANESE- AMERICANS

The third group of Americans greatly affected by World War II were Japanese-Americans, but not in the same way as women and African Americans. Distrust of anyone of Asian descent after the bombing of Pearl Harbor led the American government to take drastic measures. Many who had a Japanese ancestry were forced to move to “relocation camps” spread across the United States This was done under the pretext that by relocating these people the US would avoid any chance of them committing espionage but also that it would prevent a vengeful American people from attacking the local Japanese-Americans.

People who were well established in their communities and had lived and worked there for years were forced to take very few personal belongings and move to these camps for the duration of the war. Those who had lived in the West of the country, especially California and the Northwest were hardest hit. They lost businesses and homes as they were forced to move away. The Japanese-American population in Hawaii, about 150,000 out of 400,000 Hawaiians was not interned, the cost to the American government being deemed too exorbitant.

Not all Japanese-Americans were forced to the camps, however. One famous unit, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, was composed entirely of Japanese-Americans and became the most decorated unit of the war. Serving in the European theatre they earned over 18,000 citations, with 500 Purple Hearts, 52 Distinguished Service Crosses, Seven Distinguished Unit Citations, and one Congressional Medal of Honor.

Website for more info. www.smithsonianeducation.org/educators/lesson_plans/japanese_internment/leaving_home.html

Ive always wanted to know what it was like for them.
Imagine you are a young Japanese-American boy or girl living in the United States in 1942. You have been relocated by the government to an internment camp located in Idaho and you have lived there for about a month.
I want to here how other people would act if they were sent to one back in those days as a japenese-american.

Write a diary entry as a Japanese-American boy or girl and describe what you see in the camp and some of what your day is like there.

A: A mix of emotions. Anger, sadness, the feeling of being singled out. Being forced to live in a camp is humiliating. Some became stronger from the experience, and their loyalty to America grew stronger.

Some joined the armed forces to fight for the US army at the war in Europe. These brave Japanese American soldiers sacrificed their lives in battle to gain respect in America.

On the other hand, many other Japanese Americans denounced the U.S. for what they had to endure at the camps. They were deported back to Japan.

So there were really two camps of people, those who remained loyal through prejudice, and those who went back to their homeland.

Q: Where does one go to get Palm stuff for older palm OS handhelds like the m100?
I’ve a used palm and need a docking station and or etc so as to sync with the used computer running Fedora 7 (or is it 8?)(and a wireless g card would be nice if this thing is smart enough to access the internet at my library…).

And does anyone know how a de@dbeat Liberal like me get around the organized criminal family courts to get access to any source of old stuff like this now that they are “authorized” to attack former law enforcement. They attack with accusations in civil court that result in no payed legal defence possible (frozen assets). They have at the disposal of any organized criminal outfit date r ape d rugs and the ability to create and then exploit family issues against law enforcement with the most severely penalized legal findings available to any and all all types of courts in the USA (Freeway Ricky Ross got less than 2.5 years for instance for selling more cocaine than anyone, ever, in history had done but a de@dbeat Liberal gets at least 2.5 years in federal prison at hard labor ~ if Liberal ~.

This “finding” is inevitable as a conserfative court MUST find that a Liberal has not “CHOSEN” to be a CONSERFATIVE. The law forces “choices” that earn more money for the “children” (even of r ape). The conserfative has already promised to apply conserfative “optimism” about conserfative economic potential in his “work up” to becoming judge and has already promised not to “see” that all of a police force “just happened” to get divorced from arranged marriages to foosies ~ but rather to apply blinders that only permit him / her to “see” just the single case on the docket at that moment, thus given the 50%+ “BELIEVABILITY STANDARD” the judge cannot find “cause” to doubt the credibility of such a scenario… As no such Liberal can be said by a conserfative court to have chosen to earn as much as “HE MIGHT HAVE” ~ if he had chosen to be a conserfative, and no Liberal can win a case so stacked against him. And for penalties there are :2.5 years busting rocks with no possibility of parole or appeal or media coverage ~ ostensibly because the organized criminals running this government “don’t want to upset the children” with the news that they aren’t nice guys??? Followed by as long as it takes to kill said cop in “local jails and prisons” (if by some miracle the fellow “works hard enough” to qualify for parole because “hard labor” means release is “discresionary” to the court finding the fellow actually “worked hard”.

This sort of scenario has happened before (read JFK’s famous prison report of 1960-1). The old “conserfatives” used the excuse of vagrancy to kill people in droves often without trial ~ as vagrancy was a “civil” matter. The “legal” sentance was thus 6 months, but this was at hard labor ~ if the court found that “hard labor” had not been done ~ and according to JFK they did for the vast majority of cases never find the work sufficiently hard ~ THE COURTS WOULD SIMPLY NEVER RELEASE THE PRISONER. Average life expectancy was less than two years. Conserfatives are famous in all countries for work to death programs for the “poor” (often people of worth that the conserfatives have robbed blind). Today, given “de@dbeat daddy law” we cannot know ~ due to “protections” built into the law “for the psychies” of children who might get upset to know that their prostitute, d ope addict mommy got the hero cop dad put away for life for having arrested a d ope dealer instead of doing the conserfative thing and asking for a bribe.

But don’t worry the conserfatives will bring in enoughh heroin from Afghanistan to keep you happy enough with America’s continued support of treason.

But, while awaiting execution in vertual house arrest ~ ordered to earn twice what I’ve ever done or nothing after brain injuries that would have killed a “lessor man”, by a court that denies I’ve ever been shot through the head, Liver, Spleen, both kidneys, heart, both lungs and etc. much less run over by a drunken judge by a borrowed uninsured car…I’ve limited means due to licensing restrictions “for de@dbeats”.

And yet, I get things at goodwill….that for me are cool, and I’d like to be able to get the most out of them ~ even, as it turns out if this is only as an excuse to vent “the missing spleen”…

Q: How does this story read out to you?
” Evil Carnival ”

Like many festivals before, there are people who embrace the life of celebrating. A small town threw many such festivities, until one day, a man riding his horse shows, up to invite them to a carnival a few miles down the road. He went by the name Clifford La Jamboree, with a pleasant welcome, the people made their way to his Carnival.
He had miles of food, acres of games, fabulous creatures; even the Mythical Beast called a Basilisk. He then became most famous for his festivals and his hat, which had a distinctive design of a face. They called it an optic illusion to the eye by the creases and thought none of it. No one really knew where he came from just enjoyed his company. It was by the hundreds people would play, eat, dance, and laughed into the night air filling the moon with joy and happy moments.
As it may, good things turn bad. On night a child wondered into the Basilisk’s gated area. It would be that the child removed its blind fold; with the Beast gazing into the child’s eyes then striking him with his Extreme toxin turning him into dust. It wasn’t until the boy’s brother who also wondered into the tent saw his little brother’s clothes and shoes laying with his ashes in them; he yelled and ran home. The town went in to a panic, demanding that they remove him and his carnival before he sends his beast on them. The Mayor agreed fearing for his daughter’s life and rounded up various male members of families to go kill them man and his beast. The town attacked all the man’s fellow workers killing 5 and wounding several others.
This lead to the town’s first ever tragic moment. Some blamed it on the Man who brought play and sin, others say it was negligent parenting, but when came judgment, he was shot in the head and killed by. They buried him under his “carnival”; a town folk shouted out, “Now he can play in the dirt!” The town then feared of the Basilisk hunting them down, so they burn down the festival grounds and warned it as unholy grounds. The creature was never seen again as for legend has it, once it kills it’s “full” so to speak and leaves to travel to a new horizon. It would seem the town was safe.
It would be 2 years that has pasted, and the town began to notice old music playing. Everyone went out to find the noise, but no one was playing such music. It wasn’t near or far, just around. In a few days, the town became rather irate of the music playing day and night; most couldn’t sleep; others even became angry due to lack of silence. Fights brake out between the town’s folk, sometimes children would have fights along side their parents. Days pass over and the music just stopped. That following night a woman went out by a lake to wait on a friend, as she was waiting, she found the dead man’s hat washed up against the bushes. She didn’t see any harm in picking it up even though of the bad reputation of the man. In which she was splashed with wine from the inside, she screamed and her friend came running to her. They left the hat behind ran into town to tell others. A citizen laughed and said she just misses that “wine-o-dip” game, with embarrassment; she cried and was taken to her home. Later that night, she become intoxicated, while in her drunken state, she started laughing and yelling about how mean her boyfriend is, she then run out of the house and yells at other residents, she told other people secrets, including her own. She ruined a few friendships that night, and then later dozed off, only to have died in her sleep.
The next day a man started dancing to no music but he is rather very joyful and full of energy. They tried to stop him only to find that his heart was racing at a dangerous speed, his wife yelled at the town people, “Save him! He is dying from his dancing!” All the towns people can do was watch and look at the man’s face turn from joy to pain and not a second too soon, his heart exploded in his chest. His wife cried and repeated over and over how he said to have missed those nights of endless dancing.
That following night two teenagers were playing with fireworks, when they discovered another set that was slightly buried in the ground. The teens quickly began to light them, with the first two already lighten; a thick smoke surrounded them turning their skin purple. As minutes passed their faces began to swell, then their hands, feet, stomachs, even their tongues causing them to suffocate to death. One of the boys mother recall them stealing fireworks the day that man was buried. The town priest told everyone that G-d had now punished them with his plague of delight. He then raved about how they celebrated with that Man then kill him over the act of a beast. Some disagreed and said “Why is it only affecting the ones who enjoyed them selves?” With this being said everyone who had enjoyed the carnival, feared of being killed by what they did the most during each festival.
As days pasted more and mor

Q: Is this a good story “First chapter”?
At year 4015, located almost a million light years away, the deserted planet of Trylon was discovered.
Space travel have advanced so much that we can travel that distance only in 10 months.
A team of archaeologists went to the deserted planet, trying to find out how the
Trylonains lived…..
We discovered that they were primitive but advanced civilization. Also we came to the conclusion that the Tryrlonians also looked a lot like humans when we discovered their skeletal remains. The air was breathable to humans, oxygen, nitrogen and other gases that were present at Earth were in the Tyrlon’s atmosphere. Archaeologist planned to stay here for 10 months, excavating the site.
But one day, some team continued excavating the site, I came upon scrolls that were written in the Tryrlonian language, Tryn.
I was able to decipher some off it, and when I did, it unveiled a great story of this demi goddess named Azathya. People were amazed on how well it was preserved because it seemed like it was over 5,000 years old. People were able to discover a lot about the Tryrlonains culture and way of life through the epic we should more call it.
When archaeologist came back to Earth almost a year later, they reported their finds. They had some translators translate the epic into English and many other different languages, such as Chinese, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese….. the translators was impressed. They called the epic “The Epic of Azathya: Goddess of the Tryloains.” The epic is so long that they had to divide it into three parts, a trilogy for the more matter.

But the trilogy also makes you wonder. In the story, she saved her people from her father’s wrath and threats to destroying them, which stopped the planet Trylon from meeting Armageddon. But eventually, the planet does fall, how through if she saved it? Many people soon heard about this discovery. Many people were begging so that they could just read it. So to be fair they gave the scroll about all Trylon life to a very famous author, and within a year he had wrote a book about it. Now to this day many people still read the book. So now here is that story the story that changed lives forever.

The story is about Azathya, a 17 year old girl who is half Tyronain- half god. She doesn’t want to accept this because she wants to live her life normally. But when the other gods and goddess of her kind [her father (who is the leaders of the gods) and also abandoned her when she was born because she was not the son that he wanted.] tried to destroy her home, (she knows this by the mysterious killings and attacks of the mythical creatures) she takes action. She goes on a quest to try to earn the right to enter the Realm of the Gods, the mythical world where the gods live, but it requires the finding of three different keys that will open the portal to mortals. (It is the Tyronain inside her that is preventing to go into the Realm) The finding of these keys will prove to the gods that the Tyronain is courageous, cunning, and all the different features that will prove to the gods that they are worthy to be in their presence. The quest is dangerous, filled with puzzles, and the fighting of monsters and other mythical creatures and monsters that the gods send down to try to stop you. She knows that no other mortal survived, but she goes on the quest anyway.
She does survive finding all three keys. She goes to the entrance of the Realm and enters it. There, she defeats her own father by a mythical sword that she found during her quest and she pierced it through his heart. She tells him that she is sorry that she had to this, but his actions left her no choice. Now with him gone, Azathya is the only one that could take the place as queen of the gods. But the gods do not like the idea of a half god being over them, so they send her on another quest that will prove that she is truly worthy of being a god. They agreed if she comes back alive, that they would change her to a full god. But they are also planning to make this quest almost virtually impossible to accomplish because they really do not want to change her (hoping that she would not survive so they could appoint one of their own as head god.) That quest will then go to the second book.

A: it’s AWESOME but it’s not clear how the whole journey its just to short i mean “she finds the three keys and lives and fights her father” how did she find the keys i mean no one was supposed to live and she found all of them like that? or what were the keys you didn’t explain that, also why does she fight her dad what brought her to that
over all its really good i like it alot, reminds me of avatar, speaking of it be careful not to make it sound to much like it but really it was good
please keep me updated, i would defently read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For more information about: irregular heart beat visit the heart and blood site MyHeartyHeart.com today.

Q: Omron Blood pressure monitor detected irregular heart beat?
I purchased a new Omron blood pressure monitor. It has the irregular heart beat detector in it. I’ve been monitoring my BP for three weeks and no irregular beats have been detected until today.

However, I think I might have been moving my arm a little and been tensed up. So my question is, how accurate is the irregular heart beat feature? Can it make an error?

Anyone else have one of these monitors detect an irregular beat before?

A: Omron are excellent blood pressure machines but these machines have there are limitations and the best readings are done manually. Depending upon the sensitivity of the machine the slightest movement will affect your reading as does talking and not having your feet flat on the floor.

Typically I wouldn’t get anxious about this type of reading. I assume you have high blood pressure and that is why you use the monitor have your physician check for any irregularities should the problem persist.

Q: I think my heart has an irregular beat, how do I know?
I was lying in bed and then I suddently became short of breath, and light headed. I also got a sudden burst of heat in my body. This happened a couple times within a 10 minute 10 period. After these “episodes” I felt a big beat near my chest. Are these signs of an irregular heart beat? What should I do about it?

A: Nothing significant, avoid stimulants and stress; and junk food, if it still does not work out check with your doctor, OK.

Q: What is the most irregular heart beat you have had?
For example my heart beat went from 120-160 in seconds whilst I was in hospital which is a pretty big gap – and it was really irregular, I had an injection to regluate it. Anyone else had a heart beat thats been really irregular?
Just wondered what is the MOST irreglar heart beat because surely if your heartbeat becomes too irregular wouldnt it class as heart failure and you would die?

A: The most irregular heart beat I had was 211 beats per minute. Thank goodness I was in the ER when this event happened, had a early event in the morning at home. Now have a heart failure pacemaker/defibrillator.

Q: What would be causing irregular heart beat?
My husband has been having an irregular heart beat and mems checked him out and his heart beats 80 beats a min. then jumps up to 130 and 140 beats a min. He has a doc appointment at 3:00 today.

A: Has your husband’s electrolytes been checked? Esp. potassuim, if too low may cause an increase in the heart rate. I’m glad he is seeking medical help. Good Luck

Q: Vet heard a slow irregular heart beat in my cat, is it necessary serious?
She said she’s deaf in one ear so i left her there for a second opinion. Is there any way that if she does have a slow irregular heat beat its from nervousness or some minor thing, or is it always serious? Does anyone have a cat with a slow irregular heart beat and has advice?

A: That sounds like a heart murmur. Plenty of animals have it and it’s not always serious, yet there are cases where action needs to be taken. Only your vet can correctly diagnose something like that.

Q: How much caffeine does it take to produce an irregular heart-beat or other caffeine related illnesses?
I just want to know the correlation between caffeine and irregular heart-beat and other related factors.

A: There are so many factors to consider. It is like any drug, it metabolizes, and therin lies the rub. Factors that effect how it will effect you include Age, Weight, health, condition of the liver and kidneys, hydration, etc.

A single large coffee contains about 4 espressos worth of caffine. An average 8 oz cup has about 40 mgrams. A person really should not metabolize more than 160 mgrams in a day and expect not to have health problems arise.

Because it is a diuretic, it will make you urinate more frequently, and flush your colon, thus it can easily lead to dehydration. Dehydration is usually first noticed by rapid heartbeat and dry lips, dark urine, etc.

It also invokes the flight or fight response in the brain and probably heardens the arteries. There is an article about this below.

Hope this helped you. Here are a few websites:)

Q: What’s the difference between an irregular heart beat and palpitations?
My BP monitor indicated that I was getting some irregular heart beats and I’m waiting for the results of a holter monitor scan so…I’m worried about it and am trying to figure out what will be the outcome. Anyone had a similar experience? Any info greatly appreciated.

A: Irregular heart beats are the objective finding when heart beats or pulse are examined. When irregular heart beats are found, it actually means that there is something amiss with the heart. But palpitation is a subjective feeling which may or may not indicate heart irregularity.

Palpitations occur when a person can feel abnormalities in the normal beating of the heart. These palpitations can be an isolated extra beat, or they can run together and last for prolonged periods of time. This has every thing to do with perception.

A person may have irregular heart beats yet, may not have palpitations. Likewise someone may have palpitations and still may not have irregularities.

Q: Do you think I have an irregular heart beat?
My uncle has an irregular heart beat and I think I might too. I get light headed very often, I’m usually short on breath, and for the past day or so I’ve had minor chest pains and a hour or so ago my heart was beating really fast for no apparent reason. Could that be whats going on?

A: You got to get a Holter monitor assessment of your cardiac status, may be nothing is wrong just a stress disorder, OK.

Q: What is a irregular heart beat?
I have chest pains all the time and was told I have a irregular heart beat. What is that? And y is my chest hurting so much?

A: I have an irregular heartbeat. I have a murmur which turned into aortic stenosis. i am scheduled to have surgery in about 3 months. i had the pains, and shortness of breath. go see a cardiologist.

Q: what is an irregular heart beat is this fatal?
David Ortiz from the mets is getting tested for a irregular heart beat and i was curious as to how serious this is. just a concerned fan.

A: What everyone has said is correct. The most common irregular rhythms are PVCs and PACs (premature ventricular/atrial contration). It’s kind of like when your heart “skips a beat.” You could have a lot of PVCs and it wouldn’t be a big deal. They would monitor blood pressure and probably use meds to control the heart rate. Not a big thing as long as it is monitored. Unless there is some kind of deformity with the heart. It *could* be serious…

Q: Can adderall kill you if you have an irregular heart beat?
My heart beats about 35-40 times, than, it skips a beat, than continuse to beat again for about another 40 times, and so on.. i heard adderall makes your heart race, will this hurt my heart? isn’t it good for your heart to pump faster?

A: Adderall will not kill you. However, Adderall may cause rapid heart beat along with jitteryness and some other symptoms. It really depends on the reason why you’re taking it. If you’re taking it for ADD, it probably won’t affect you that much. If you’re taking it for energy, that’s when it can affect your heart. It’s definitely not a good thing to take if you’ve got an irregular heartbeat, but it surely will not kill you. I’d still ask a professional about yourself specifically and if it is okay to take. Everyone will be affected differently.

If you do take, definitely do not take any other energy enhancing substances with it, which includes caffeine.

Q: Why do I have a irregular heart beat on my right side of my chest?
The last couple days I can feel a heart beat on the right side of my chest instead of left. It persists for about haft hour then stops and does not occur for a few hours. But I actually feel my heart beating inside my chest.

A: Heart Palpatations? Go see your doctor

Q: Can you develop an irregular heart beat even if you have a healthy heart?
I am 26, I have had 2 stress tests and many cardio work ups in the ER. I keep going to the ER with massive panic attacks in fear that my heart is going to stop or scar or something bad. I do not have heart disease nor family history of it. The doctor says my heart is healthy but I do have controlled HBP. Any words of encouragement?
Out of all my testing I have never been told I have a Irregular heartbeat

A: must check with cardiologist carefully to rule out irregular heart rythm is Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.

Q: does Adderall cause irregular heart beat and heart problems in the future?
I’m not trying to get cardiovascular disease from this drug? or irregular heart problems and anxiety does adderall do this?

A: I and my 16 yr old have been taking adderall for about 8 yrs. To my knowledge cardiovascular disease is not caused by taking adderall, however irregular heartbeat (although I haven’t experienced), My son did have some experience with and for him it was not deemed unsafe and he continued his normal medications with 1-2 more incidents(also deemed safe to continue as normal). I continue to take adderall, without adverse affects. My 16 yr old, no longer takes his as he suffered for anxiety issues anyway, and it took me years to link the worsening anxiety to the adderall ( the delay is attributed to the fact that our doctor and several pychitrist, never made that connection so I ruled it out initially). But finally I was made aware of this possible side effect, and immediately that he greatly improved and in his case the benefits did not out weigh the side effects. If you don’t have the manufacturer info on your medication you should be able to get a copy from your local pharmacy. Good luck with your decision, hope this info is helpful.

Q: Is it normal to have an irregular heart beat on rare occasions?
I’m 15, turning 16 in March, and I’m completely healthy, with no health problems whatsoever. I’ve never had health or heart problems before either. But sometimes, like a minute ago, my heart all of a sudden just… beats irregularly. It’s hard to explain- its not too fast, or too slow, but it’s kind of scary. I guess you could say it beats… harder? I don’t know… help!

A: Don’t panic. It sounds like a Premature Ventricular Contraction or Premature Atrial Contraction, what happens is – an ectopic beat occurs earlier than it should, either in the atrium or ventricles. It happens to almost everybody and seems like your heart has temporarily skipped a beat, only to be followed by a stronger beat, or thump, occurring in your chest or neck. Unless several times a minute (>6), there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

Q: Is there a chance for a Low blood pressure patient to face heart attack?
What are the symptoms of low blood pressure and what is the extreme result that could happen if not taken care or while staying alone at home?

A: Yes. Low blood pressure is more dangerous than high blood pressure. It can also cause collapsed blood vessels which causes your blood to cease flowing. But it does depend on how low your blood pressure is before it is considered dangerous.

Q: Low blood pressure. What causes it and what symptoms are there if any.?
My Daughter is 34 yrs old and has had low blood pressure for some years . She has two children and only works part time standing all day working with hair , she came home two nights ago after fainting for no reason. Could this be conected. Any help or advise given would be nice for her.

A: Your daughter should definitely see a doctor just to rule out anything serious. If there’s nothing wrong, the doctor may advise that she can increase her salt intake to help raise her blood pressure and reduce or eliminate the dizzy spells. Diet and stress can both be factors. Regular physical exercise can sometimes help by resetting the body’s baselines. But make sure she sees a doctor. Don’t rely just on the advice here! We don’t know her medical history, genetic tendencies and current physical condition. Good luck.

Q: what are symptoms of low blood pressure?? could you feel like you are going to pass out, faint?

A: A low blood pressure could make you feel like you are going to pass out for faint. Lightheadedness and fatigue would be other possible symptoms. Some people could have low blood pressures and not have any symptoms at all. If you are concerned, then have your blood pressure checked.

Q: Are symptoms for low blood pressure the same as high?

A: Some symptoms of low blood pressure are dizziness, lightheadness, exhaustion and weakness. These symptoms are similar to those caused by other conditions and / or diseases. You should contact your doctor for an examination and confirmation of the cause of the symptoms.
High blood pressure – or the silent killer – can be divided into two sections. When the high blood pressure is caused by an underlying disease, this is called secondary hypertension. The other is when the effects of hypertension affect organs, for example, heart, brain, kidneys, blood vessels etc. This is known as the late stage of primary hypertension.

Q: Been feeling a little weak/dizzy, what do you think it is? Low blood pressure?
I have been told that both my mum and grandma used to get frequent headaches due to low blood pressure. Do you think it’s that? What are symptoms of low blood pressure? More info about it, please? Anything else you think it can be? It is not unbearable, only once or twice been really bad but I get headaches a few times a week and just wondering what you think it could be?

I will probably get myself to a doctor but just wondering what you think it can be anyway and what I can do?

A: Sounds like it.!!!
Consult a Doctor.!!!

Q: What symptoms does low blood pressure have on the body?
Hello,
I have had low blood pressure all my life, today it was 98 on 57, which is really low, but still at a higher level than hypotension. I have noticed that I am generally more tired than some of my friends, and I eat more sugar than them. I read online that sugar retains body fluids, ( more body fluid means higher blood pressure) so that is a sign supporting my low blood pressure. I dont enjoy long workouts, because after a time I start feeling really tired and slightly dizzy, because I think my heart doesn’t supply enough ciruclation. I also start feeling cold easily after sitting still for a long time, and my feet and hands get cold easliy too, which is why Im always in socks
I cant concentrate for more than 3 to 4 hours either, because for example in school I have to sit still and work, but I cannot because I am tired and cold.

I havent had myself checked out yet, but do all these things have to do with low blood pressure??
answers will be much appreciated thx

A: Sugar retains water in the Liver only. Salt retains water in the blood. you mention having low blood pressure but have you also checked your pulse? if you have low blood pressure combined with a high pulse then it will equalize to a point. generally low blood pressure would present : Fatigue, cold sweat, chills, nausia at times, dizzyness, (if you have low blood pressure while exercising then it can cause you to pass out, numb your extremeties, cold sweats diminished bodily control.).

as for your symptoms being caused by low blood pressure that is likely but you would be better off going to a doctor to rule out any other potential issues and or get a prescription for a drug that can raise your blood pressure.

Q: what r the symptoms of low blood pressure?

A: anemic condition, mentally retarded,uhm, if diastole’s below 60 and systole’s below 90.

Q: Is this a normal blood pressure of to low?
my blood pressure was 92/62 and my pulse was about 75. Ive been getting headaches and feeling dizzy and very very tired. Ive always had a lower blood pressure but this i low for me is this symptoms of low blood pressure? Im 20 years old about 5′2 and 90lbs.

A: Normal BP is anywhere from 90/60 to 120/80 so you are within normal range. The lower your BP is the better off you are as long as it doesn’t drop below normal levels. Are you drinking enough water? For your height and weight you should not be getting dizzy with that BP reading but dehydration will cause dizziness. Pulse is anywhere from 60-100 so your pulse is fine also. I doubt your BP is making you dizzy, more than likely you need to drink more fluids. If you increase your fluid intake and still have problems you need to see your Dr but most people just don’t drink enough water.

Q: Pre-eclamptic symptoms but low blood pressure & no protein in urine.?
I am 31 weeks pregnant and having pain under my rib cage and in my back on the same side. Spotty/blurry vision, constant headaches, and nausea. My BP and urine came back fine. I have had pre-e in a previous pregnancy witht he exact same symptoms except I had high BP and protein in urine too. What could be causing this since my BP is normal?

A: Since you don’t have the high blood pressure or the protein in your urine you definatly don’t have pre eclapmsia.
My guess is that the pain in the rib cage is from the baby, the spotty blurry vision is coming from the stress of thinking you have preeclampsia again. Same with the headache. And the nausea is probably coming from not seeing straight.
Try and lay down and get some rest so your blood pressure doesn’t end up rising from too much stress. And good job on getting to the doctor to get it checked out.

Q: 1. Antibiotics can kill gram negative bacteria, but symptoms of fever and low blood pressure can persist. Why
Antibiotics can kill gram negative bacteria, but symptoms of fever and low blood pressure can persist. Why?

A: gram negative bacteria contain lps, which is released when they are lysed. lps stimulates the immune system, which signals the body that danger is still around, causing the body to lower its blood pressure and raise its temperature. high levels of lps — even without whole bacteria — can kill a person.

Q: What are the symptoms and differences between High Blood Pressure and Low Blood Pressure?

A: Hypertension is abnormally high blood pressure, while Hypotension is abnormally low blood pressure.

Hypertension is “repeatedly elevated” blood pressure exceeding 140/90 – a systolic pressure above 140 with a diastolic pressure above 90. It has often been called the silent killer. It usually occurs without any symptoms for years, until it finally damages certain critical organs. It can develop into something more severe like kidney failure, impaired vision, heart attack, stroke and death. Anyone can develop high blood pressure, but it tends to be more common in African-Americans. It happens at an earlier age, and is more severe. A person can experience headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea and blurred vision. High salt intake, obesity, lack of regular exercise, excessive alcohol or coffee intake, smoking, and stress are all factors. It is also hereditary, meaning it may run in your family.

Hypotension, is pressure so low it causes symptoms or signs due to the low flow of blood through the arteries and veins. When the flow of blood is too low to deliver enough oxygen and nutrients to vital organs such as the brain, heart, and kidney, the organs do not function normally and may be permanently damaged. Normal blood pressure is usually in the range of 120/80. Low blood pressure “can be” considered less than 90/60, but that’s for your doctor to evaluate. If the blood pressure is low, standing can make the low pressure worse, to the point of causing symptoms – lightheadedness, dizziness, weakness or fainting. It can also cause moodiness, depression, fatigue, unusual thirst and cold, pale skin. Unlike high blood pressure, low blood pressure is defined primarily by signs and symptoms.

Q: Can having Low Blood Pressure ever be healthy if you are not getting symptoms?
Also in what way is it healthy?
And what is the limit to how low it can be for a normal 16 year old girl before it is too low.

A: Sure! It just simply means that you are a relaxed person and then your heart doesn’t have to work as hard. Physically it means that you probably have very clean arteries which is a very good thing. For a 16 year old girl normal BP is around 110/60. I wouldn’t worry until the systolic (the bottom number) got below 45-50. I’m a 52 year old woman and my BP usually runs right around 116/62 which is exceptional for someone my age! Don’t worry and keep up the good work!

Q: Low blood pressure associated with Ovarian Cancer?
Can anyone tell me if low blood pressure is associated with Ovarian Cancer? I have all the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer and have been to the dr. When I was there, she freaked because my blood pressure was 80/60. I have been getting dizzy quite a bit which I know is part of low blood pressure. I am just wondering if low blood pressure is another symptom of Ovarian Cancer.

A: Yikes, that is low.

But no, it is not a symptom of ovarian. cancer.

There are a lot of things that contribute to or cause low blood pressure. It might be connected to complications of a cancer, but not to the cancer itself.

Good luck getting all your problems sorted out. I hope you improve quickly.

Q: what’s the differance between symptoms of:low blood sugar and low blood pressure?

A: in low blood sugar you feel tired allot. and in low blood pressure you can faint or feel giddy.

Q: low blood pressure symptom?
one person has low blood pressure of 90/70 with a pulse of 65 and failure to thrive …does this indicate something related to low HDL ? or what ?

A: Hello,

90/70 isn’t considered to be too low. It is the diastolic (bottom figure) which is the one to be mainly concerned about and 60 – 80 is considered to be normal so there is nothing to worry about.
