Q: What (other than having it checked) are some signs of high blood pressure?
Just curious. A coworker says he’s concerned about me, because my face is always red and I look flushed, and I sweat easily. Is this a sign of high blood pressure? If not, what ARE some signs?
A: Some people think the symptoms of high blood pressure are:
Frequent headaches
Dizziness
And although you may feel these things, the truth is that most people with high blood pressure have no symptoms. That’s why it is important to monitor your blood pressure regularly. If you know your blood pressure is too high, you can do something about it.
High blood pressure typically develops without signs or symptoms. And it affects nearly everyone eventually. If you don’t have high blood pressure by age 55, you have a 90 percent chance of developing it at some point in your life, according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Fortunately, high blood pressure can be easily detected. And once you know you have high blood pressure, you can work with your doctor to control it.
Q: what are the signs of high blood pressure?
what are the signs of high blood pressure?
A: Well, it presents with a headache which is persistent , feeling tired and not able to concentrate. In many people these symptoms are not present but when u check their blood pressure , u find it too high. It can be silent.
Q: Are there tell tale signs of high blood pressure?
How can you tell if you have high blood pressure without a blood pressure monitor?
A: Hey James they call hypertension the “silent killer” because frequently there are not any symptoms. People may experience headache, dizziness and nosebleeds. More symptoms occur as complications of hypertension such as heart disease, visual problems, stroke or death. I think you want to be a cardiologist.
Q: what are the signs of blood pressure being high?
I have asked a question before about swelling in hands, fett, and lips. but my mother today had an episode where her face was really red even her ears she felt dizzy and couldn’t see for about 10 min. she is 50 yrs. old and her only diagnosed problem is her high blood pressure.. she is 4″11″ and weighs 124 lbs any one who has a similar expierence please.. please leave all deatils very much appreciated thank you!
A: The next time this happens to your mother, call an ambulance. It sounds like she is having a T I A or Transient Ischemic Attack. I have included an link below for more info.
This is nothing to be trifled with, it could be the warning sign of a coming stroke.
I had a TIA in July of last year – not fun.
Q: what are signs ur blood pressure is high?
what are the common signs of high blood pressure…
A: no symptoms. go to doctor & have your blood pressure checked. it is important. if its too high, you could have a heart attack or a stroke. you have to manage your blood pressure. give up salt, salty snacks and foods. give up the salt shaker; canned foods; even soda has sodium which is salt in it. my doctor put me on a diauretic, which takes water out of your system. (makes you pee more) it helps me keep my blood pressure lower. exercise also helps. stay away from stressful situations and people that stress you out. all those things make your blood pressure go up. stay calm and peaceful. don’t overdo work.
Q: What are the signs of high blood pressure and diabetes?
My feet swells a lot after I eat, and my body stays bloated. I get little headaches off and on. Could these be signs?
A: High blood pressure has almost NO signs — it is a “silent killer”. MANY people don’t know they have high blood pressure UNTIL they drop over from stroke or heart attack. the only way to KNOW you have high blood pressure is to have the doctor measure it with that little cuff-on-the-arm thing.
Diabetes has many signs, but it shares ALL of them with other diseases. Diabetics often suffer from tingling in the hands and feet — but so does someone with a “slipped disk”. Many diabetics suffer from being thirsty all the time — but it IS summer, and the weather IS hot and dry – - -. Many diabetics pee a lot — but if you drink a lot, you pee a lot.
the ONLY way to know if you are diabetic of not is by taking blood tests from the doctor.
Swelling of the hands and feet are NOT caused by diabetes, but they are caused by kidney disease (which IS caused by diabetes) or Congestive heart failure (which IS caused by diabetes).
Hmmmm . . . only a doctor can tell if you are diabetic or not. Only a doctor can tell if you have high blood pressure or not. Only a doctor can test to see if you have kidney disease or congestive heart failure.
Maybe it is time for you to GO TO THE DOCTOR?!?!?!?
Q: What are the signs of High Blood Pressure???
If you have it, how did you know? What were the signs.
Is servere & cronic headaches and dizzyness one of them???
If you have it, what will the doctor do? What will I have to do??
Thanks.
A: High blood pressure is anything over 120/80/ Headaches are one sign, dizziness, fatigue, palpation’s,shortness of breath etc. The Dr will first take your blood pressure which you should also take on a reg basis if you feel your having problems. EKG is next. easy just sticky probes attached to you takes less than a minute. Possible an xray. Bloodwrk would probably be taken to check for any other problems.
Then if you have high blood pressure usually treated with meds. Stay off the salt and carbs. And exercise often, Cardio wrk out. There are many things that can cause high bp so a physician is actually the only person that can tell you exactly how treatment will be. Good luck
Q: What are the early warning signs of high blood pressure?
A: High blood pressure is a risk for both heart disease and stroke. Unfortunately, high blood pressure usually has no specific symptoms and no early warning signs. It directly increases the risk of heart disease. High blood pressure is a risk for heart disease because the heart is working harder than normal thus putting the heart and the arteries under a greater strain. When the heart is forced to work harder for long periods of time, the heart becomes enlarged. A heart that is slightly enlarged may function okay but a severely enlarged heart has a hard time pumping a sufficient amount of blood.
Q: signs of high blood pressure?
ok im 33 weeks pregnant and high blood pressure…ive had pill to take and bed rest but i started have some wierd and odd signs of problems…that I do not like…and im afraid its a sign of it getting to high
Here are a list of problems I have:
1. shaking
2. feels like my heart is having a hard time pumping
3.dizzy
4. headaches
5. sick to my stomach (usually before anything even occurs, my first symptom)
6. vision becomes blurry and I see black spots
are any of these a sign of very high blood pressure. Im going to tell my doctor about these occuring problems friday. But…it scares me.. I dont want to tell her (even know i know I need and have to) but…im afraid that im only 33 weeks pregnant they will take the baby that early and I dont want anything to happen to him. (hes my second baby boy!)
Will they take a baby if I start having these symtoms even though im already on blood pressure medication (which is my 3rd set of pills cause nothing has been working to bring it down), and im on full bed rest? What else is there to do to keep my blood pressure down. I literally just lay around now…i dont even get up much unless i need to pee or cook me something to eat at night (only me and my 2.5 year old son is here at night, hubby is at work). No stress in my life (i have it made lol)…. so i doing NOTHING to increase my blood pressure. So I dont know what to do anymore. Im afraid to tell her cause im afraid she may say… we need to take him or something like that.
I do NOT have preeclampsia….I was tested for it already due to my high blood pressure.
I was cleared and do not have it!
im not stressing over anything. Nothing to be stressed over it. I just want to know what they may do to me or baby if my blood pressure will not come down without bed rest or medication. Agree im somewhat worried but nothing major because im 33weeks NOT 23 weeks (which is very risky to baby!)
A: your stressing about not stressing darl it might help you to take some paper and right down everything that you need doing want to ask the doctor then go take a nice cool shower and put your feet up higher than your head and have some cold drinks take some deep breaths and see how you go i wouldnt wait to see your doctor just ring up and ask as i was told when my blood preasure was to high that i needed bubs out i did some off the previouly mentioned and it bought it down
if your baby needs to be born now so be it baby has a 90 percent chance of survival from 32 weeks and every day goes up all baby is doing from 30 weeks is putting on weight yes baby will be small but youll have all the help from nurses to look after bubs my son was born at 35 weeks and was fine his like any normal kid youv done the hardest part now and its time to get ready to meet him
good luck with everything and let us know how you go
Q: Sure signs of High Blood Pressure in pregnancy?
has anyone had high blood pressure while pregnant? Im having dizziness, nausea, headaches, insomnia, Extreme drowsiness, stomach cramps, my arms feel very heavy while this is going on and if I stand too long I feel very icky and woozy. This happens mostly after I eat for about the first 30 to 40 minutes and than I will be fine. ( I have had NO swelling whatsoever and Im told that’s the biggest sign) I have Gestational Diabetes but my Blood sugar level is normal when I check it. I know GD puts you at higher risk for preeclampsia…do these sound like the signs of high bp?
A: Dizziness and headaches can be signs of preeclampsia. I would recommend you call your OB. I had preeclampsia with my first pregnancy and didn’t have any symptoms other than high bp. But I know someone who had a severe case and had to have an emergency c-section 6 or 8 wks early. If caught early, sometimes it can be controlled by strict bedrest. I don’t think if it just happens 30-40 after eating, that it is preeclampsia, but you never know. It is probably has to do with whatever you ate.
Q: Are excessive nosebleeds during pregnancy a sign of high blood pressure?
I know that a bloody nose is normal during pregnancy but when its everyday and runny sometimes could this be a sign of high blood pressure?
A: If you can’t get the bleeding stopped within 10 minutes and the nose bleeds happen frequently each day, then contact your doctor.
Here’s the link to a good article that may help:
http://www.babycenter.com/0_nosebleeds-during-pregnancy_255.bc
Here’s an excerpt from the article on how to avoid nose bleeds:
Can I do anything to avoid getting a nosebleed?
• Drink extra fluids to help keep all of your mucous membranes well hydrated.
• Blow your nose gently. Aggressive blowing can lead to nosebleeds.
• Try to keep your mouth open when you sneeze.
• Avoid dry air, especially in wintertime or in dry climates, by running a humidifier inside your house and not overheating your bedroom. Also stay away from irritants like smoke, which you should be avoiding anyway.
• Use a lubricant to prevent nasal dryness. Some experts recommend petroleum jelly. Others suggest a special water-based nasal lubricant that is available over the counter at pharmacies. Saline nasal sprays or drops can help, too.
• Don’t overuse medicated nasal sprays or decongestants. They can dry out and further irritate your nose.
Hope this helps!
Best Wishes & Congratulations!
Q: Signs of HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE…………?
is chest pain and dizziness a sign of high blood pressure?
also, i took my bp at teh drug store automated thingie..
it said 180 over 98…but those things arent accurate are they?
A: High blood pressure is notorious for having no signs or for having vague signs that could be anything.
You need to be sitting for an accurate blood pressure. You can’t sit at many drug store BP machines. The standing readings will be high.
Chest pain can be a sign of many things, I’m afraid. Classical cardiac related chest pain is in the mid-chest, dull, feels like someone pressing down on your chest, and the pain grows to radiate to the left arm. Anyone with this pain pattern should immediately call 911 for an ambulance; they should NOT drive themselves to the hospital.
BUT; quite a few cardiac patients have different chest pain. Conversely, many chest pains are not cardiac related. (Lungs, esophagus, stomach, muscles.) That’s why doctors don’t diagnose heart attacks by symptoms anymore.
Sorry I can’t answer your concern directly.

A: if ur dizzy its a sign of LOW blood pressure…

A: lightheadedness, tired/fatigued, blacking out when standing are signs of hypotension (low blood pressure)
