A: If you do not feel comfortable about yourself, go and discuss it with your doctor.. But do not be shy about getting a second opinion.. A stress test often exposes weakness in a heart and this test is readily available.. Ask for one..It is your body..
Q: What are Coronary Heart Disease symptoms?
A: It is where the arteries that supply the heart with blood have a build up of plaques which collects over time, made up of fatty substance, calcium occluding or stenosing (narrowing) the lumen (inside of vessel).
This could cause a blockage of blood flow and oxygen from getting to a particular part of the myocardium (heart muscle), causing a heart attack or death. Please see: coronary heart disease mayoclinic.com for a good resource. Heart disease is the #1 killer in the United States.
Symptoms of CAD: angina or chest pain which could radiate to jaw or neck or down arm, shortness of breath, dizziness, sweating, anxiety.
Q: Ways to improve congestive heart disease symptoms?
I’m interested in ways to improve a congestive heart disease patient’s symptoms, ie edema of the legs and abdomen, stomach aches, confusion, sleeping problems due to breathing issues, extreme fatigue. My Dad is suffering from various complications due to his congestive heart disease. He was an alcoholic for years, which led to his condition. After his last close call, almost had a heart attack, he has been sober for six months. He’s still a smoker, which I’m working on, he’s already tried chantix and ect, but if you know of a better way please share that as well! His doctor just keeps putting him on different meds, I’m wanting other avenues through lifestyle changes or any other kind of helpful tip to improve his symptoms and I would like to print off some literature to actually give him to read. Anything would be helpful!
A: Heart failure is a syndrome of ventricular dysfunction. Left ventricular failure causes shortness of breath and fatigue, and right ventricular failure causes peripheral and abdominal fluid accumulation; the ventricles can be involved together or separately. Diagnosis is initially clinical, supported by chest x-ray, echocardiography, and levels of plasma natriuretic peptides. Treatment includes diuretics, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers, β-blockers, aldosterone antagonists, specialized implantable pacemakers, and correction of the underlying disorder.
Q: Can gas cause heart disease symptoms? ?
As in palpitations, chest pain (different types, sometimes dull, sometimes sharp, sometimes radiating to the arm and occasionally the same thing on the right side of my chest), etc.? I had a heart workup, including multiple ekg’s, an echocardiogram, a stress test, and a 24 hour holter monitor, all negative. I need answers someone please help!
A: Yes, gas attack is the first thing doctors look for when a patient complains of those symptoms. Gas attacks are from bad digestion and NO, antacids are NOT the best solution. Most attacks are from NOT ENOUGH stomach acid and eating bad oils, like Vegetable Oils.
If you get any acid indigestion or reflux, chances are that you are having “gas attacks,” especially if your doctor can find no clear cut problems with your heart after doing all those tests.
good luck
Q: What are the known and unknown symptoms for heart disease?
A: High blood pressure will cause a stroke or heart attack alsopains in the chest and left arm then you call 911. heaviness in the legs while walking is a sign of heart problems have your colestrol checked if that gets to high that is bad for your heart I know I have had them all. Don’t take any chances. it’s not worth it. God Bless you.
Q: how will you explain the symptoms in heart disease with angina bt no dyspnea?
a diabetic patient, hypertensive, smoker, and obese. complaining for chest pain his symptoms fits CAD but he has no dyspnea. Form my research, angina and any other headrt disease presents dyspnea, but this one has none. can you please explain? thns so much
A: Not everyone with heart disease and angina will experience dyspnea or shortness of breath. It is just like people having a heart attack, some experience all the symptoms, while others only experience a few of the symptoms. Most websites and research papers say symtpoms that “CAN” occur, which does not mean that they “WILL” occur. Rarely angina can occur in the absence of coronary disease such as people with certain heart valve problems.
I suggest if you haven’t already, to see a cardiologist. From your post I am unsure if you are trying to diagnose yourself regarding the CAD and angina. If you haven’t seen a cardiologist, let them run tests and diagnose and they can lead you from there.
Best wishes to you.

Q: What is a coronary heart disease? What are its symptoms, test, and treatment?
How is it detected during test?
A: Heart disease, or coronary artery disease, is the result of plaque (fat) building up in the arteries (vessels that take blood away from the heart and feed the body) that stem directly from the heart.
As it gets worse and time goes on, the symptoms can include being short of breath with minimal exercise. The worst case scenario is when the plaque ruptures (breaks free from the lining of the artery) and clogs blood flow, resulting in a heart attack (death of cardiac tissue).
The symptoms of a heart attack are usually chest pain in the center of the chest, radiating down the left side or left arm.
The tests they use in the hospital are EKG’s, (electrocardiogram) and blood tests including CKMB’s (creatine kinase myocardial bands) and troponins. If the heart has been damaged permanently it will cause cell breakdown and release these substances into the bloodstream, which is what the tests look for.
Next step is a stress test, where they measure the effect of exercise on the heart. If it is positive, they will then do a cardiac cath. They put a small tube inside the biggest artery of your leg, feed the tube up into your heart, inject dye and watch on an Xray to see the pattern of blood distribution. They can detect artery constrictions this way and use the catheter to insert stents if necessary to keep the arteries open.
If it is really bad, they will send the patient immediately for open heart surgery.
I hope this answer helps.

Q: Do you think I have Heart Disease ?
19 yo male smoked 4 a day for 3 years
I have weird pains in my legs and chest, but i think they are muscle pains caused by too much sexual activity, cuz it hurts to touch a muscle above my chest. When i read about heart disease symptoms, i feel like i’m getting heart disease. I also have bad acid reflux.
A: The pains of acid reflux often mimic chest pain in a way that some people think they are having a heart attack. I wouldn’t get too worked up until you go to see a Doctor, odds are you are fine.
Q: What is heart disease? Can you have heart disease and there be no overt symptoms?
A: Didn’t know I had it until it struck.
Had a few chest pains during the night and as they grew more painful decided to consult my GP
Whisked into Hospital-Operation-better now although on medication (stopped smoking)
