Qualifications in Association Management
The qualifications of the consultant are the key to a successful relationship between an association and its management company. Professional Certifications
- Certified Association Executive. Certification required five years’ experience in association management, college degree, 200 hours of professional development in association management, involvement in the professional organization for association executives, and passing score on certification exam.
- Certification in Public Communications and Issues Management, sponsored by University of Texas Professional Development Center and Public Relations Society of American Austin Chapter, 2003.
- Texas teacher certification, Kindergarten-Grade 6. Qualified for certification in secondary journalism and speech.
Current Professional Activities and Awards
- Membership in American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). Guest presenter on innovation and strategic planning at Great Ideas Conference, December 2005.
- Award: Successful Meetings magazine "Super Six" national award for Innovation in Meeting and Event Planning, 2003.
- Guest presenter on "Inclusiveness in Meeting Planning" at chapter meeting and regional conference for the Society of Government Meetings Planners, November 2003 and February 2004. Author of "Building a Web Site" in national association magazine, Summer 2003.
- Participation in Accepted Practice Exchange (APEX) sponsored by Convention Industry Council.
